1999 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships
The 1999 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships was an international figure skating competition in the 1998–99 season. It was held at the Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Canada on February 21–28. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. This was the first Four Continents Figure Skating Championships to be held. Anthony Liu
Anthony Liu (born Liu Yueming on 4 July 1974) is a Chinese-Australian figure skater. A seven-time Australian national champion, he represented Australia at the 1998 Winter Olympics, where he placed 25th, and at the 2002 Winter Olympics, where he placed 10th. Personal life Liu was born on 4 July 1974 in Qiqihar, China. He moved with his family to Australia in 1994 and became a citizen in August 1996. Career Early in his skating career, Liu represented China under the given name Yueming. He placed 6th at the 1993 World Junior Championships and 21st at the senior World Championships later that season. He won the 1993 Winter Universiade. Yuri Litvinov
Juri Litvinov (also romanized as Yuriy Litvinov, born May 6, 1978) is a Kazakhstani former competitive figure skater. He is a multiple national champion of Kazakhstan and competed at the 1998 Winter Olympics, World Championships, and Four Continents Championships. He moved to the United States with his then-coach Sergei (Sergey) Korovin in 1996. Litvinov retired from competition in 2003. Ricky Cockerill (born 26 October 1978) is a New Zealand former competitive figure skater. He is a seven-time New Zealand national champion and competed in the free skate at five Four Continents Championships. Life and career Cockerill was born on 26 October 1978 in Dunedin, New Zealand, and was educated at Otago Boys' High School. Cockerill trained as a figure skater in Auckland, New Zealand; Sydney, Australia; and Moscow, Russia. He represented New Zealand in a number of international competitions including three world championships and five Four Continents Championships. Timothy Richard Goebel (born September 10, 1980) is an American former competitive figure skater. He is the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, 2002 Olympic bronze medalist. He was the first person to land a Quadruple jump, quadruple salchow jump in competition and the first person to land three quadruple jumps in one program. Emanuel Sandhu (born November 18, 1980) is a Canadian figure skater and dancer. He is the 2004 Grand Prix Final champion and a three-time Canadian national champion. Personal life Sandhu was born on November 18, 1980 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was raised in Richmond Hill, Ontario with his younger brothers Chris and Daniel. His father, Lokraj, is Indian Sikh and his mother, Enza, was born in Italy. He is fluent in English, French, and Italian. Sandhu dabbles in modeling and singing. Roman Skorniakov
Roman Skorniakov (russian: Роман Скорняков; born 17 February 1976, in Sverdlovsk) is a Russian-born figure skater who mainly represented Uzbekistan. He represented Russia early in his career before switching to Uzbekistan in 1996. Skorniakov is the 1997–2003 Uzbekistani national champion. He represented Uzbekistan at the 1998 and 2002 Winter Olympics, twice placing 19th. His highest placement at an ISU Championship was 7th at the 2000 and 2002 Four Continents Championships.
