Brit Awards 1999 was the 19th edition of the Brit Awards, an annual pop music awards ceremony in the United Kingdom. It was organised by the British Phonographic Industry and took place on 16 February 1999 at the London Arena in London. London Arena
The London Arena (also known as London Docklands Arena) was an indoor arena and exhibition centre in Millwall, close to Cubitt Town area of Poplar, on the Isle of Dogs, in east London, England which was inaugurated in 1989 and demolished for housing in 2006. Seating capacity was up to 15,000, depending on the type of event held. It was the home of the London Knights ice hockey team, the London Towers basketball team and later the Greater London Leopards basketball team. History First opened in 1989, the arena was built on the grounds of a former harbour warehouse at Millwall Dock, Millwall Inner Dock as part of the redevelopment of the London Docklands, Docklands area, which was developed from a harbour and industrial area to a trade and residential one. Manic Street Preachers
Manic Street Preachers, also known simply as the Manics, are a Welsh Rock music, rock band formed in Blackwood, Caerphilly, Blackwood in 1986. The band consists of cousins James Dean Bradfield (lead vocals, lead guitar) and Sean Moore (musician), Sean Moore (drums, percussion, soundscapes), plus Nicky Wire (bass guitar, lyrics). They form a key part of the 1990s Welsh Cool Cymru cultural movement. ''Greatest Hits'' is a greatest hits album by British pop duo Eurythmics, released on 18 March 1991 by RCA Records. It contains their successful singles spanning the years 1982 through 1990. The album topped the charts in the United Kingdom for a total of 10 weeks and in Australia for seven weeks. It remains the duo's best-selling album worldwide and has been certified six-times platinum in the United Kingdom and triple platinum in the United States. It is the title track of their album of the same name (1983) and was released as the fourth and final single from the album in early 1983. ''Forgiven, Not Forgotten'' is the debut studio album by Irish pop rock group the Corrs. It was released by Atlantic Records on 26 September 1995 across the world. The album was primarily produced by David Foster, with additional production by Jim Corr. In January 1997, a special tour edition of the album was released in Australia and New Zealand and featured a bonus disc containing live and rare tracks which were recorded from their Forgiven, Not Forgotten World Tour. The title track and the band were featured in an episode of ''Beverly Hills, 90210'' called "Turn Back the Clock". The band performed the song at a New Year's Eve party at the Peach Pit After Dark. "Runaway" is a song by Irish family band the Corrs, released in September 1995 as the debut single from their first album, ''Forgiven, Not Forgotten'' (1995). It had middling chart success except in Ireland and Australia, peaking at number 10 in both countries.
