1998–99 Red Stripe Bowl
The 1998–99 Red Stripe Bowl was the 25th season of what is now the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). It ran from 6 to 19 October 1998. Eight teams contested the competition – the six regular teams of West Indian domestic cricket (Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Windward Islands), plus two invited international teams from the ICC Americas region (Bermuda and the United States). All matches at the tournament were held in either Guyana or Jamaica, with the semi-finals and final held in the latter country, in Discovery Bay. Guyana and the Leeward Islands eventually progressed to the final, with Guyana winning by 52 runs to claim their sixth domestic one-day title. West Indies Cricket Board
Cricket West Indies (CWI) is the governing body for cricket in the West Indies (a sporting confederation of over a dozen mainly English-speaking Caribbean countries and dependencies that once formed the British West Indies). It was originally formed in the early 1920s as the West Indies Cricket Board of Control, but changed its name to West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in 1996. In November 2015, the Board resolved to rename itself as Cricket West Indies as part of a restructuring exercise that would also see the creation of a separate commercial body. This rebranding formally occurred in May 2017. CWI has been a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1926. Philo Wallace
Philo Alphonso Wallace (born 2 August 1970) is a Barbados, Barbadian cricketer who played for the West Indian cricket team, West Indies. Having first attempted to get into cricket in 1990, he made the big time in 1997–98 after hitting 198 runs in two Test cricket, Test matches. He formed an opening partnership with Guyanese batsman Clayton Lambert that for a brief period was hailed as a possible successor to the legendary Greenidge/Haynes partnership that dominated the 1980s. It was not to be, though, and by the end of the West Indies' ill-fated tour to South Africa in late 1998, both Wallace and Lambert had been discarded from future selection. Floyd Reifer
Floyd Lamonte Reifer (born 23 July 1972) is a Barbadian cricketer and politician. He is a left-handed middle-order batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. Reifer has played six Tests and eight One Day Internationals for the West Indies cricket team, spread over a home tour against Sri Lanka in 1997 and the 2009 edition of the ICC Champions trophy. Ten years after playing his fourth Test match, Reifer was recalled to play for the West Indies on 9 July 2009. He captained an understrength team fielded by the West Indies against Bangladesh. Winston Reid
Winston Wiremu Reid (born 3 July 1988) is a New Zealand professional footballer who last played as a defender for club West Ham United. He captained the New Zealand national team. Antonio Mayers
Antonio Nigel Mayers (born 23 October 1979) is a former Barbadian cricketer who represented both Barbados and West Indies B in West Indian domestic cricket. He was an all-rounder who bowled right-arm medium pace (just like Kyle Mayers does) and batted right-handed unlike Kyle Mayers who is a left handed batsman. He was one of two cricketers from the same family to make their test match cricket debut the other being Kyle Mayers. Ryan O'Neal Hinds (born 17 February 1981) is a West Indian cricketer. He is a left-hand batsman and a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. Pedro Tyrone Collins (born 12 August 1976) is a cricket coach and former cricketer who played as a fast bowler for the West Indies. Collins also featured for Barbados, Surrey and Middlesex in his cricketing career. International career As a left-handed seam bowler, Collins shot to fame after getting Sachin Tendulkar out three times and twice for a duck during the 2001-02 India vs West Indies Test series. Sherwin Legay Campbell (born 1 November 1970) is a former Barbadian cricketer who played 52 Tests and 90 One Day Internationals for the West Indies, and also a former ODI captain for Windies. Domestic career Campbell played a total of 177 first class games between 1990–91 and 2004–05, scoring more than 10,000 first class runs with 26 centuries at an average of 37. He earned the attention of the West Indies’ selectors during the 1993-94 Red Stripe Cup, amassing 400 runs in five games with three hundreds.
