The 1998 Polish Speedway season was the 1998 season of motorcycle speedway in Poland. Individual Polish Individual Speedway Championship The 1998 Individual Speedway Polish Championship final was held on 15 August at Bydgoszcz. Golden Helmet The 1998 Golden Golden Helmet ( pl, Turniej o Złoty Kask, ZK) organised by the Polish Motor Union (PZM) was the 1998 event for the league's leading riders. The final was held at Wrocław on the 25 September. The 1997 Polish Speedway season was the 1997 season of motorcycle speedway in Poland. Individual Polish Individual Speedway Championship The 1997 Individual Speedway Polish Championship final was held on 15 August at Częstochowa. Jacek Krzyżaniak won the Polish title. Golden Helmet The 1997 Golden Golden Helmet ( pl, Turniej o Złoty Kask, ZK) organised by the Polish Motor Union (PZM) was the 1997 event for the league's leading riders. The final was held at Wrocław on the 3 October. Tomasz Gollob won his fourth Golden Helmet Championship. Jacek Rempała
Jacek Rempała (born 16 February 1971) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. Career Rempała represented Poland during the 1991 Speedway World Team Cup. He rode in Poland for 27 years and spent much of it with Unia Tarnów. He won the 1991 Silver Helmet and the 1993 Bronze Helmet. He first rode in Britain when he signed for the Ipswich Witches for the 1992 British League season. He did not return to Britain again until 2006, when he joined the Berwick Bandits The Berwick Bandits are a British speedway club, based in Berwick-upon-Tweed. Grzegorz Walasek
Grzegorz Walasek (born 29 August 1976) is a Polish motorcycle speedway rider who has ridden for the Polish national team and has also competed in the Speedway Grand Prix series. Career Born in Krosno Odrzańskie, Poland, Walasek began his senior career in 1993 with ZKŻ Zielona Góra, and won the Polish Under-21 Championship in 1997. In 2000, he began riding in the UK with Poole Pirates. In 2004, he won the senior Polish individual championship. He was part of the Polish team that won the Speedway World Cup in 2005 and 2007. Walasek rode in 22 Speedway Grand Prix, reaching one final and scoring a total of 138 points. For his sporting achievements, he received the Golden Cross of Merit in 2007. Dariusz Śledź (born 15 September 1969) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Poland, who rode in the 1995 Speedway Grand Prix of Poland. Śledź won the Polish league three times. In February 2009 he was appointed coach of the speedway club Stal Rzeszów, after previously managing the WTS Atlas team. In 2019 he became a manager of Sparta Wroclaw. Roman Jankowski
Roman Jankowski (born 5 October 1957 in Kościan, Poland) is a speedway rider active from 1976 until 2006. He is a former Polish Champion, having won the title in 1981 and again in 1988. Roman has also represented Poland at the World Team Cup. He rode for the Hackney Hawks in 1980 and 1981. Currently he is the youth coach and manager of Unia Leszno. Roman's three sons, Łukasz, Marcin and Norbert are all speedway riders. Adam Łabędzki (born 22 September 1972) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. He earned 3 international caps for the Poland national speedway team. Career Łabędzki started his speedway career with Unia Leszno during the 1989 Polish speedway season. He spent his first seven Polish leagues seasons with the club and helped them win the Team Speedway Polish Championship during his debut season. He reached two finals of the Speedway Under-21 World Championship in 1991 and 1993. During his last season with Leszno in 1996, he finished runner-up to Sławomir Drabik in the Polish Individual Speedway Championship.
