The 1998 FIFA World Cup knockout stage covers the games from the second round through to the final at the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France. The top two teams from each of the eight groups qualified for the knockout stage. Miguel Ángel Benítez
Miguel Ángel Benítez Pavón (born 19 May 1970), also known as Peque Benítez, is a Paraguayan retired footballer who played as a forward. He is best known for his spell with Spain's Espanyol, where he played for seven years. Altogether he spent one full decade in that country, representing three other teams and appearing in more than 200 official games overall. Zlatko Georgiev Yankov ( bg, Златко Георгиев Янков; born 7 June 1966) is a Bulgarian footballer manager and former player, who played as a midfielder. Career Yankov was capped 79 times and scored four goals for the Bulgaria national team between 1986 and 1999. He played eight games wearing the no.6 shirt at the World Cups in 1994 and 1998, and he was also in the Bulgarian Euro 1996 squad. Anatoli Aleksandrov Nankov ( bg, Анатоли Александров Нанков; born 15 July 1969) is a Bulgarian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Nankov spent most of his career playing in the Bulgarian A PFG, but also had a spell with GKS Katowice. On 23 July 1997, Nankov was involved in arguably one of the most dramatic matches in CSKA Sofia's recent history, scoring twice to give his team a 3:1 away lead against Romanian side FC Steaua București in the first leg of a Champions League preliminary phase match, but was ultimately sent off and the Romanians succeeded in bringing the score to 3:3. Ivaylo Petkov ( bg, Ивайло Петков; born 24 March 1976 in Dolni Dabnik, Pleven Province) is a former Bulgarian footballer, who played mainly as a left back and centre-back. Ivaylo Stoimenov Yordanov ( bg, Ивайло Стоименов Йорданов; born 22 April 1968) is a Bulgarian retired professional footballer who played mainly as a striker. Trifon Marinov Ivanov ( bg, Трифон Маринов Иванов; 27 July 1965 – 13 February 2016) was a Bulgarian professional footballer who played as a defender. Ivanov made his debut for Bulgaria in 1988, earning 76 caps and scoring 6 goals over a ten-year international career. Radostin Prodanov Kishishev ( bg, Радостин Проданов Кишишев; born 30 July 1974) is a Bulgarian former professional footballer who works as director of youth/U19 coach of Chernomorets 1919. Paulo César Carpegiani (born 7 February 1949, in Erechim) is a Brazilian retired footballer who played as a midfielder. Playing career Carpegiani began his professional career at Sport Club Internacional of Porto Alegre, in Rio Grande do Sul, where he played from 1970 to 1977, winning two Brazilian Championships (1975 and 1976).
