1998 Belgian Super Cup
The 1998 Belgian Supercup was a football match between the winners of the previous season's Belgian First Division and Belgian Cup competitions. The match was contested by Cup winners Genk, and 1997–98 Belgian First Division champions, Club Brugge on 8 August 1998 at the ground of the league winners Club Brugge, the Jan Breydel Stadium. Franky Van Der Elst
Franky Van der Elst (born 30 April 1961) is a Belgian retired professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. He later worked as a manager. During a 21-year professional career he played mainly with Club Brugge, being regarded as a legend there and briefly coaching the team in the 2000s. Also, he was named by Pelé as one of the top 125 greatest living footballers, in March 2004. Domenico Olivieri (footballer)
Domenico Olivieri (born 16 January 1968) is a Belgian football manager, and former footballer who played as a defender. He is currently the assistant manager of Genk. Career As a player, Olivieri played for Waterschei Thor, Genk, Seraing, and Louviéroise. He was best known for his stint at Genk, where he became their captain and led them to their first ever Belgian First Division A trophy in the 1998–99 season. Managerial career Olivieri coached the reserves of Genk from 2006 to 2017. In 2017, he was promoted as Genk's assistant manager. István Brockhauser
István Brockhauser (born 3 May 1964) is a Hungarian former football player. Hungary national football team From 1990 to 1992, he was the No 2 goalkeeper of the Hungarian national team behind Zsolt Petry under the Hungarian coach Kálmán Mészöly and Imre Jenei. Eric Maria Gerets (, born 18 May 1954) is a Belgian football manager and former player who played as a right back. He started his playing career as an amateur for his local team AA Rekem, before achieving success with Standard Liège and PSV. Olivier De Cock (born 9 November 1975) is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as a right-back. He is manager of the reserve team of R. Knokke FC. Club career De Cock was born in Eeklo. He joined Club Brugge in 1987. In 1995, he was promoted to the first team.
