The 1997–98 Illinois Fighting Illini men's basketball team represented the University of Illinois. Regular season During the 1997-98 season, head coach Lon Kruger did the unthinkable as he took a team picked to finish seventh in the Big Ten and guided the Illini to a share of its first Big Ten title since 1984. On the way to the league crown, Illinois went 5-0 against Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball, Indiana, Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball, Iowa and Michigan Wolverines men's basketball, Michigan, marking the first time in school history the Illini had gone undefeated against those teams during the course of a season. Lon Kruger
Lonnie Duane Kruger (born August 19, 1952) is a retired American college and professional basketball coach (sport), coach who was most recently the men's basketball head coach of the University of Oklahoma. Kruger played college basketball for Kansas State University. He has served as the head coach of the University of Texas–Pan American, Kansas State, the University of Florida, the University of Illinois, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, as well as the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Kruger was one of only three coaches ever (the others being Rick Pitino and Tubby Smith) to lead five programs to the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament. 1998 Big Ten Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 1998 Big Ten men's basketball tournament was the inaugural postseason men's basketball tournament for the Big Ten Conference and was played from March 5 through March 8, 1998 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The championship was won by Michigan who defeated Purdue in the championship game. As a result, Michigan received the Big Ten's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Due to the Michigan basketball scandal, Michigan has vacated the records from this tournament. Similarly, due to the Minnesota academic scandal, Minnesota's appearance in this tournament was vacated. Seeds All 11 Big Ten schools participated in the tournament. Teams were seeded by conference record, with a tiebreaker system used to seed teams with identical conference records. Raleigh-Egypt High School (REHS) is a secondary school (grades 9–12) located at 3970 Voltaire Road in Raleigh, a section of Memphis, Tennessee, United States. It is part of the Shelby County Schools district. It shares a campus with Egypt Central Elementary School and Raleigh-Egypt Middle School. The high school has an enrollment of 595 as of school year 2019–2020. When REHS was built in 1969, it was part of the Shelby County School System. Ware County High School
Ware County High School is the only public Secondary school, high school in Ware County, Georgia, United States. It is located in the city of Waycross, Georgia, Waycross. History Ware County High School was formed in 1958 by the merging of Waresboro High School and Wacona High Schools. Expansion occurred in 1993 when the Waycross City Schools dropped their charter and Waycross High was absorbed by Ware County Senior High. In 1994, the doors were opened to a new high school in Ware County. It is located on Victory Drive, and is home to more than 1500 students and 110 faculty members.
