The 1996–97 Alpha Ethniki was the 61st season of the highest football league of Greece. The season began on 6 September 1996 and ended on 25 May 1997. Nikos Goumas Stadium
Nikos Goumas Stadium ( el, Στάδιο Νίκος Γκούμας) was a multi-purpose stadium in Nea Filadelfeia, a northwestern suburb of Athens, Greece. It was used mostly for football matches and was the home stadium of AEK Athens F.C. It is now replaced by Agia Sophia Stadium built at the same site. Name The stadium was named "AEK Stadium" ( el, Γήπεδο ΑΕΚ) but was also known as "Nea Filadelfeia Stadium" ( el, Στάδιο Νέας Φιλαδέλφειας). In 1991 it was officially named "Nikos Goumas Stadium" after former club president Nikos Goumas, who contributed to its building and later upgrading. Petros Ravousis
Petros Ravousis ( gr, Πέτρος Ραβούσης; born 1 October 1954) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as defender and a former manager. Club career Ravousis took his first football steps in Aetos Skydra from where he was transferred to AEK Athens in the summer of 1972. A dynamic and tough defender, who was developed by the then coach František Fadrhonc. The Czech coach, by moving Lakis Nikolaou from the attack to the center of defense and pairing him with Ravousis, created one of the best defensive duos in Greek football history, as the one complemented the other's capabilities.
