1996 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The 1996 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 106th staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The championship began on 21 September 1996 and ended 27 October 1996. Nenagh Éire Óg were the defending champions, however, they failed to qualify after being defeated by Lorrha-Dorrha in the first round of the North Championship. On 27 October 1996, Boherlahan-Dualla won the championship after a 1–16 to 2–12 defeat of Toomevara in the final at Semple Stadium. It was their 11th championship title overall and their first title since 1941. It remains their last championship triumph. Newport GAA
Newport GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "North Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the town of Newport, County Tipperary, Newport. Lacken Park Named after Patrick Ryan (Irish politician), Paddy Ryan Lacken, and known locally as "The Park". It has four changing rooms (Home on right). With a club house at the end with many Newport GAA memorabilia as well as a kitchen a Referee's room while a meeting room also in the building. There are three pitches, a main pitch with a stand and great floodlight facilities. Separating the two Juvenile pitches and the main pitch is a hurling wall. 1961 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The 1961 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 71st staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. Toomevara were the defending champions. On 15 October 1961, Thurles Sarsfields won the championship after a 3–04 to 0–09 defeat of Toomevara in the final at Páirc Shíleáin. Liam Cahill
Liam Cahill (born 13 October 1977) is an Irish hurling manager, former selector and player. He has been manager of the Tipperary county team since 18 July 2022. Playing career College Cahill first came to prominence as a hurler with Scoil Ruáin in Killenaule. In 1992 he was a member of the school's junior hurling team that won the All-Ireland Vocational Championship after a 3-04 to 2-04 defeat of St Colman’s Vocational School from Gort. Club Cahill joined the Ballingarry club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels. He enjoyed championship success in the minor grade, winning back-to-back championship medals in 1994 and 1995. As a member of the Ballingarry senior hurling team, Cahill won South Tipperary Championship medals in 1996, 1998 and 2001. Cahill transferred to the Thurles Sarsfields club in 2007. Johnny Enright
John Enright (born 1977) is an Irish hurling selector and former hurler who predominantly played for Tipperary Senior Championship club Thurles Sarsfields. He played for the Tipperary senior hurling team at various times over a six-year period, during which time he usually lined out as a right corner-forward. Enright began his hurling career at club level with Thurles Sarsfields. He joined his older brother Eddie on the club's senior team as a 16-year-old in 1993 and, towards the end of his career in 2012, he won a Munster Club Championship medal. Enright was also part of four Tipperary Club Championship-winning teams, including as captain in 2009. He also lined out with the Éire Óg-Corrachoill club in the Kildare Club Championship, and was also selected for University College Cork, with whom he won three successive Fitzgibbon Cup titles. JK Brackens GAA Club
JK Brackens is a Gaelic Athletic Association club serving the parish of Templemore, Clonmore and Killea in County Tipperary, Ireland. JK Brackens compete in the county Tipperary GAA and Mid-Tipperary divisional competitions and is one of only two clubs in Tipperary that consistently complete at senior level in both the hurling and gaelic football. The club is also nationally renowned as one of the country's leading GAA Scór clubs. Currently, the club fields 21 teams from under 6 up to senior grades and has approximately 250 playing members. Clonmel GAA Ground
Clonmel GAA Ground, also called Clonmel Sportsground, is a GAA stadium located in the town of Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland. It is the home ground of St. Mary's hurling team and Gaelic football team Clonmel Commercials. It is also occasionally used by the Tipperary county football team and has hosted games in the Munster Senior Football Championship, McGrath Cup and National Football League. Cashel King Cormacs GAA
Cashel King Cormacs GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Cashel, County Tipperary in Ireland. They play their games in Leahy Park, on the Clonmel Road in Cashel. The club is named for the king-bishop Cormac Mac Cárthaigh (d. 1138). Extensive work has been carried out in the last few years, with the addition of a new clubhouse and main stand the highlight. West Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The West Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Tipperary Co-Op West Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the West Tipperary Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1930 for senior hurling teams in West Tipperary, Ireland. The championship has always been played using a knock-out format. The West Tipperary Championship was, until recent times, an integral part of the wider Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship. The winners and runners-up of the West Tipperary Championship joined their counterparts from the other three divisions to contest the county championship quarter-finals. Four teams currently participate in the West Tipperary Championship. The title has been won at least once by 13 different teams.
