1995–96 FIBA European League
The 1995–96 FIBA European League, also shortened to 1995–96 FIBA EuroLeague, was the 39th installment of the European top-tier level professional club competition for basketball clubs (now called EuroLeague). It began on September 7, 1995, and ended on April 11, 1996. The competition's Final Four was held at Paris. It was the last season of the competition that took place under the name of FIBA European League, as the competition was renamed to FIBA EuroLeague, starting with the next season. Competition system *42 teams (the cup title holder, national domestic league champions, and a variable number of other clubs from the most important national domestic leagues) played knock-out rounds on a home and away basis. Kalev (also known as Tallinn Kalev, Korvpalliklubi Kalev) was a professional basketball club from Tallinn, Estonia what was back then part of Soviet Union. The team played in the Estonian Basketball League (Korvpalli Meistriliiga) and in the Soviet Union Basketball League. Their home arena was Kalev Sports Hall. Kalev was a professional basketball team representing Estonia in Soviet Union Basketball League until 1992; thereafter Kalev was designed like a national team with the best 12 players from all over Estonia. Hapoel Galil Elyon ( he, הפועל גליל עליון), also known as Hapoel Nofar Energy Galil Elion for sponsorship reasons, is an Israeli basketball club. The team competes in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, the top tier of Israeli basketball, and internationally in the Balkan League. The team represents the northern region of the country – the Upper Galilee, and the Golan Heights. Basket-Ball Club Résidence or simply Résidence or Résidence Walferdange is a professional basketball club from the commune of Walferdange. History Résidence was founded in 1965. Later the same year began the inauguration of the Prince Henry Stadium, the club's homecourt. On March 2, 1967 was allowed to BBC Résidence, the admission of the association with the FLBB. BC Prievidza is a professional basketball club based in playing in Prievidza, Slovakia. The team plays in the Slovak Extraliga. The club plays home games in the sports hall Niké Arena. History The team was founded in 1947 under the name Sokol Prievizda. In 1989 the club won its first ever title in the Czechoslovak Championship.
