Jamal Mahmoud (born 1 May 1973) is a Jordanian football manager of Palestinian origin, who was a midfielder for Al-Wehdat and Shabab Al-Ordon. He was the head coach of the Palestine national football team from 2011 to 2014. Coaching career Jamal coached his long life club, Al-Wehdat, under Iraqi head coaches Akram Ahmad Salman (2008–2009) and Thair Jassam (2009–2010) until he became head coach himself and transferred to coaching in Palestine. The 2010–11 season marked the creation of the first professional league in the territories and saw high-profile signings for many clubs. Most notably Fadi Lafi (Hilal Al-Quds), Hernán Madrid (Wadi Al-Nes), and many Arab citizens of Israel who played for teams in the second and third tier of Israeli football. The original format of the WBPL consisted of 12 teams playing each other twice over 22 matchdays, the bottom two clubs are relegated to the second division and the team with the most points are crowned champions. Markaz Shabab Al-Am'ari won the inaugural season beating out Hilal Al-Quds on goal differential. The 2011–12 included only 10 teams but the PFA have announced that four teams will be promoted from the First Division returning the league to its traditional 12-team format. Jabal Al Mukaber is a Palestinian football team from the city of East Jerusalem, that plays in the West Bank Premier League. In 2010, the club won the West Bank Premier League but more recently, it has been unable to play games in Jerusalem due to restrictions on players with Palestinian Authority identification, preventing them from entering Jerusalem. The Jordanian Pro League ( ar, الدوري الأردني للمحترفين) is a Jordanian professional league for men's football clubs and represents the top flight of Jordanian football. The championship consists of twelve competing teams in a home and away league system. The league not held in the years : 1948, 1953, 1957, 1958, 1967, 1968, 1969, and not finished in the 1998 in 2002 the league change calendar to a fall spring season. Al-Wehdat Sport Club ( ar, نادي الوحدات الرياضي}) is a Jordanian sport club founded in 1956. The club is based in and represents the Amman New Camp, a Palestinian refugee camp which is also known as Al-Wehdat. Al-Wehdat's home games are played at King Abdullah II Stadium (cap. 13,265). There are other sports offered in the club, such as volleyball, basketball and table tennis. History The club was founded in 1956 under the name Al-Wehdat Youth Center. In 1974, they changed their name to Al-Wehdat Sport Club and have been called that since then (with the exception of 1986–1989 when it was named Al-Diffatain Sport Club.)
