1994–95 Cleveland Cavaliers Season
The 1994–95 NBA season was the 25th season of the National Basketball Association for the franchise based in Cleveland, Ohio. This was also the team's first season playing at the Gund Arena. During the off-season, the Cavaliers signed free agents Michael Cage, and Tony Campbell. Despite losing both Brad Daugherty with a back injury, and Gerald Wilkins with a ruptured Achilles tendon for the entire season, the Cavaliers posted an 11-game winning streak in December, which led them to a 20–8 start, and held a 28–19 record at the All-Star break. However, they played below .500 for the remainder of the season as Mark Price missed 34 games with a broken wrist. Price would soon return, as the Cavaliers finished 4th in the Central Division with a 43–39 record. Michael Robert Fratello (born February 24, 1947) is an American sports broadcaster and a professional basketball coach. Fratello is currently an analyst for Fox Sports Ohio for the Cavaliers and a part-time color commentator for Fox Sports West for the Clippers when they play on the road. He previously coached the Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA), served as NBC's lead analyst, served as YES Network's color commentator/studio analyst for the Brooklyn Nets, a commentator/studio analyst for NBA TV and for nationally televised games on TNT and was also the head coach of the Ukraine national basketball team. Terrell Brandon
Thomas Terrell Brandon (born May 20, 1970) is an American former professional basketball player. He played for three teams during his 11-year career in the National Basketball Association (NBA). A two-time All-Star, Brandon was a key starter on three NBA franchises before a series of injuries ultimately forced him to play his last game at 31 years old. Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors are an American professional basketball team based in San Francisco. The Warriors compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as a member of the league's Western Conference Pacific Division. Gary Collier (basketball)
Gary Collier (born October 8, 1971) is a retired American college and professional basketball player who attended the University of Tulsa. Collier played four seasons for the Golden Hurricane and was named the 1994 MVC player of the year. He led the 1994 NCAA Tournament in scoring average with 31.3 points per game. Collier was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2nd round of the 1994 NBA draft; however, he never played in the NBA. He played the 1994–95 season with the Quad City Thunder in the Continental Basketball League. Collier then took his game in Europe. He played his first two seasons for the Antwerp Diamond Giants. John Battle (basketball)
John Sidney Battle (born November 9, 1962) is a retired American professional basketball player and pastor. A 6' 2" (1.88 m) guard from Rutgers University, Battle was selected in the fourth round of the 1985 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. He ended his career with 5,338 points. 1995–96 Phoenix Suns Season
The 1995–96 NBA season was the 28th season for the Phoenix Suns in the National Basketball Association. During the off-season, the Suns acquired Hot Rod Williams from the Cleveland Cavaliers, and signed free agent Tony Smith. The Suns struggled with a 13–13 start to the season, then lost eight of their next nine games. Head coach Paul Westphal, who had led the Suns to the 1993 NBA Finals, went 14–19 before being replaced by Cotton Fitzsimmons, who would come on to coach in his third stint with the Suns, while Smith was traded to the Miami Heat in exchange for rookie guard Terrence Rencher at midseason. The team played above .500 for the remainder of the season, as they held a 22–24 record at the All-Star break, and finished fourth in the Pacific Division, and seventh in the Western Conference with a 41–41 record. 1995–96 Washington Bullets Season
The 1995–96 NBA season was the Bullets' 35th season in the National Basketball Association. In the 1995 NBA draft, the Bullets selected Rasheed Wallace from the University of North Carolina with the fourth overall pick. During the off-season, the team acquired All-Star guard Mark Price from the Cleveland Cavaliers, acquired Robert Pack from the Denver Nuggets, and signed free agents Tim Legler, Chris Whitney and former Bullets guard Ledell Eackles. However, injuries would be an issue as Chris Webber was limited to only just 15 games following the lingering effect to his injured left shoulder, averaging 23.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.8 steals per game. The 1995 NBA playoffs was the postseason tournament of the National Basketball Association's 1994–95 season. The tournament concluded with the Western Conference champion Houston Rockets defeating the Eastern Conference champion Orlando Magic 4 games to 0 in the NBA Finals. Daniel John Willard Ferry (born October 17, 1966) is an American former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and an All-American college player at Duke University. He most recently served as interim general manager of the New Orleans Pelicans. Considered one of the most celebrated basketball players in the United States from the high school graduating class of 1985, Ferry chose to attend Duke University.
