The Senior men's race at the 1994 IAAF World Cross Country Championships was held in Budapest, Hungary, at the Kincsem Park on March 26, 1994. IAAF
World Athletics, formerly known as the International Amateur Athletic Federation (from 1912 to 2001) and International Association of Athletics Federations (from 2001 to 2019, both abbreviated as the IAAF) is the international governing body for the sport of athletics, covering track and field, cross country running, road running, race walking, mountain running, and ultra running. Included in its charge are the standardization of rules and regulations for the sports, certification of athletic facilities, recognition and management of world records, and the organisation and sanctioning of athletics competitions, including the World Athletics Championships. Shem Kororia
Shem Kororia (born 25 September 1972) is a former Kenyan long-distance runner who specialized in the 5000 metres and half marathon. He represented his native country at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, United States. Kororia was the third man ever to run the half marathon within an hour, when he won the world half marathon title in October 1997 in Košice, Slovakia, clocking 59:56 minutes. He won 5000 metres gold twice at the Military World Games: in 1995 and 1999. He also won the Parelloop 10K in race in the Netherlands in 1997 and had back-to-back wins at the BOclassic in 1994–95. Brahim Lahlafi
Brahim Lahlafi ( ar, إبراهيم لحلافي) (born 15 April 1968, in Fes) is a retired long-distance runner who represented Morocco during his active career. He acquired French citizenship on 6 April 2002, but represented Morocco again from 15 March 2007. His greatest achievement was the Olympic bronze medal in 2000. This was his first medal at a major international event, having barely missed the podium at the 1995 World Cross Country Championships (5th place) and twice in 5000 metres at the World Championships; 1995 (5th) and 1999 (fourth). He did win a bronze medal in 3000 metres at the 1998 African Championships. In 1996 he was the winner of the inaugural Belgrade Race Through History competition. Martín Fiz
Martín Fiz Martín (born 3 March 1963 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Álava) is a long-distance runner from Spain, who won the marathon at the 1994 European Athletics Championships in Helsinki and repeated his success at the 1995 World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg. The same year he captured the title in the Rotterdam Marathon. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta Fiz came fourth in the marathon. A year later he won a silver medal at the 1997 World Championships in Athletics in Athens, finishing behind his countryman Abel Anton. He competed in three consecutive Summer Olympics for his native country, starting in 1992. Fiz has continued running into masters age divisions, setting the world M55 record in the road 10K at 31:36 on January 13, 2019 in Valencia. Vincenzo Modica
Vincenzo Massimo Modica (born 2 March 1971 in Mistretta) is an Italian long-distance runner who competed in the marathon. He was the bronze medallist in that event at the 1998 European Athletics Championships then took the silver medal behind Abel Antón at the 1999 World Championships in Athletics. Wilson Omwoyo
Wilson Omwoyo (born 25 November 1965) is a retired Kenyan long-distance runner. He competed for his country at the 1994 IAAF World Cross Country Championships, where he finished 17th overall. Although he did not have success internationally with Kenya, he won numerous competitions on the European circuit during his career. In cross country running, he won the 1990 Cross Internacional Valle de Llodio and in 1992 topped the podium at the Cross de l'Acier and Cross Memorial Juan Muguerza races. Other victories included the Cross du Figaro in Paris in 1993 and the Tilburg Warandeloop in 1995. In addition to his cross country running, he won top level road running competitions as well. He won the Foulée Suresnoise twice consecutively in 1993/1994. Mohamed Issangar (born 12 December 1964) is a retired Moroccan long-distance runner who specialized in the 5000 metres. He competed at the 1991 World Championships without reaching the final, finished ninth at the 1992 Olympic Games, and fourth in the 1993 IAAF Grand Prix Final. He finished sixteenth at the 1994 World Cross Country Championships, and for this he won a silver medal with the Moroccan team in the team competition. This was the first team medal claimed by Morocco in this event. On the regional level he won the bronze medal at the 1989 Jeux de la Francophonie, behind countryfellows Saïd Aouita and Khalid Skah.
