1992–93 Cypriot Third Division
The 1992–93 Cypriot Third Division was the 22nd season of the Cypriot third-level football league. AEZ Zakakiou won their 1st title. Format Fourteen teams participated in the 1992–93 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first two teams were promoted to 1993–94 Cypriot Second Division. The last three teams were relegated to the 1993–94 Cypriot Fourth Division. The 3rd-placed team faced the 12th-placed team of the 1993–94 Cypriot Second Division, in a two-legged relegation play-off for one spot in the 1993–94 Cypriot Second Division. Cypriot Third Division
The Cypriot Third Division (Greek: Πρωτάθλημα Γ΄ Κατηγορίας) is the third tier football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league are promoted to the Cypriot Second Division, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to the STOK Elite Division. History The Cypriot Third Division was held for the first time in the 1970–71 season as the third level of the Cypriot football. All the teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. This is the league's current format until present time. The only season when the championship not held was during the 1974–75 season. 1992–93 Cypriot Cup
The 1992–93 Cypriot Cup was the 51st edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 72 clubs entered the competition. It began on 28 November 1992 with the first preliminary round and concluded on 19 June 1993 with the final which was held at GSZ Stadium. APOEL won their 13th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Apollon 4–1 in the final. Format In the 1992–93 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division, the Cypriot Second Division, the Cypriot Third Division and 30 of the 40 teams of the Cypriot Fourth Division. The competition consisted of seven knock-out rounds. In the preliminary rounds and in the first round each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of the one of the two teams, according to the draw results. ''O Phileleftheros'' ( el, Ὁ Φιλελεύθερος, meaning "The Liberal") is the largest newspaper (by circulation) in Cyprus, with about 26,000 copies daily (2002). Established in 1955, it is also the oldest Greek-language daily newspaper in circulation on the island. Kentro Neon Onisillos Sotiras was a Cypriot football club from the village of Sotira. The club was founded in 1978 and was named after the ancient Cypriot revolutionary Onesilus.
