The 1992 NCAA Division II baseball tournament was the postseason tournament hosted by the NCAA to determine the national champion of baseball among its Division II colleges and universities at the end of the 1992 NCAA Division II baseball season. The final, eight-team double-elimination tournament was played at Paterson Field in Montgomery, Alabama. Montgomery, Alabama
Montgomery is the capital city of the U.S. state of Alabama and the county seat of Montgomery County. Sacred Heart Pioneers Baseball
The Sacred Heart Pioneers baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, United States. The team is a member of the Northeast Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. Sacred Heart's first baseball team was fielded in 1966. The Pioneers are coached by Pat Egan, who lead his first season as head coach in 2023. The program transitioned to NCAA Division I in 2000, and has appeared in the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship four times since the transition. While at the NCAA Division II level, the Pioneers reached the 1992 Division II College World Series. The Pioneers have seen fifteen players selected in the Major League Baseball Draft. The NCAA Division II baseball tournament is an annual college baseball tournament held at the culmination of the spring regular season and which determines the NCAA Division II college baseball champion. 1992 NAIA World Series
The 1992 NAIA World Series was the 36th annual tournament hosted by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics to determine the national champion of baseball among its member colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. After eight seasons in Lewiston, Idaho, this tournament was played at Sec Taylor Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Five-time defending champions Lewis–Clark State (55–10) defeated Mary Hardin–Baylor (40–18) in a single-game championship series, 14–4, to win the Warriors' eighth NAIA World Series. This would go on to be the sixth of six consecutive World Series championships for the program. Mary Hardin–Baylor outfielder Mike Meggers was named tournament MVP. The Cal Poly Mustangs baseball team represents California Polytechnic State University, which is located in San Luis Obispo, California.
