1992 NAIA World Series
The 1992 NAIA World Series was the 36th annual tournament hosted by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics to determine the national champion of baseball among its member colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. After eight seasons in Lewiston, Idaho, this tournament was played at Sec Taylor Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Five-time defending champions Lewis–Clark State (55–10) defeated Mary Hardin–Baylor (40–18) in a single-game championship series, 14–4, to win the Warriors' eighth NAIA World Series. This would go on to be the sixth of six consecutive World Series championships for the program. Mary Hardin–Baylor outfielder Mike Meggers was named tournament MVP. Double Elimination
A double-elimination tournament is a type of elimination tournament competition in which a participant ceases to be eligible to win the tournament's championship upon having lost ''two'' games or matches. It stands in contrast to a single-elimination tournament, in which only ''one'' defeat results in elimination. One method of arranging a double-elimination tournament is to break the competitors into two sets of brackets, the ''winners' bracket'' and ''losers' bracket'' (''W'' and ''L'' brackets for short; also referred to as ''championship bracket'' and ''elimination bracket'', ''upper bracket'' and ''lower bracket'', or ''main bracket'' and ''repechage'') after the first round. The Auburn Montgomery Warhawks (also AUM Warhawks, formerly Auburn Montgomery Senators) are the athletic teams that represent Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM), located in Montgomery, Alabama, in intercollegiate sports at the Division II level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The 1992 NCAA Division III baseball tournament was played at the end of the 1992 NCAA Division III baseball season to determine the 17th national champion of college baseball at the NCAA Division III level. The tournament concluded with eight teams competing at C. O. Brown Stadium in Battle Creek, Michigan, for the championship. Eight regional tournaments were held to determine the participants in the World Series. The 1992 NCAA Division II baseball tournament was the postseason tournament hosted by the NCAA to determine the national champion of baseball among its Division II colleges and universities at the end of the 1992 NCAA Division II baseball season. The final, eight-team double-elimination tournament was played at Paterson Field in Montgomery, Alabama. Tampa defeated Mansfield, 11–8, in the championship game, claiming the Spartans' first Division II national title. The 1992 NCAA Division I baseball tournament was played at the end of the 1992 NCAA Division I baseball season to determine the national champion of college baseball. The tournament concluded with eight teams competing in the College World Series, a double-elimination tournament in its forty sixth year. Eight regional competitions were held to determine the participants in the final event. Each region was composed of six teams, resulting in 48 teams participating in the tournament at the conclusion of their regular season, and in some cases, after a conference tournament. The forty-sixth tournament's champion was Pepperdine, coached by Andy Lopez. The Most Outstanding Player was Phil Nevin of Cal State Fullerton. Spring Arbor University (SAU) is a private Free Methodist university in Spring Arbor, Michigan. Developing from an earlier academy and junior college, in 1963 it began offering bachelor's degrees.
