1991–92 Rangers F.C. Season
The 1991–92 season was the 112th season of competitive football by Rangers. Overview Rangers played a total of 55 competitive matches during the 1991–92 season. The team finished first in the Scottish Premier Division and collected the fourth of their nine league titles after winning 33 of their 44 league games. Rangers won the league by 9 points, the title being won at Ibrox against St.Mirren with a 4–0 victory in April. Transfer activity was heavily influenced by restrictions imposed by UEFA in European competitions. Match squads could only include a maximum of three foreign nationals, and as a result English players at Ibrox were considered "foreigners". The most significant move was the sale of England international goalkeeper Chris Woods to Sheffield Wednesday. He was replaced by Scotland international goalkeeper Andy Goram from Hibernian. Andy Goram
Andrew Lewis Goram (13 April 1964 – 2 July 2022) was a Scottish footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Born in Bury, Lancashire, England, he started his career with Oldham Athletic and Hibernian, but he is best remembered for playing for Rangers during the 1990s, when he earned the nickname "The Goalie". In a 2001 poll of Rangers fans, Goram was voted Rangers' greatest-ever goalkeeper. Goram appeared in 43 international matches for Scotland and was selected for their squads at the 1986 and 1990 World Cups, UEFA Euro 1992 and UEFA Euro 1996. After his time with Rangers, Goram played for many clubs, most notably at Motherwell and a brief loan spell at Manchester United. He also represented Scotland at cricket, and was the only man to play internationally for Scotland in both football and cricket. Stuart Munro
Stuart David Munro (born 15 September 1962 in Falkirk) is a Scottish former professional football player, who is best known for his time with Rangers. Munro was signed from Alloa Athletic and made his top team debut for the Rangers against Dundee on 25 February 1984, aged 21. The game ended in a 3–1 win. He played a further six seasons before with Rangers before being sold to Blackburn Rovers for £350,000. He emigrated to Australia at the end of his career, appearing for Sydney United in the National Soccer League in what would be his final season of professional football. Upon retirement, he followed a coaching path, taking the reins at NSL clubs Gippsland Falcons, Carlton, Parramatta Power and South Melbourne. Paul Rideout (born 14 August 1964) is an English former professional footballer and youth team coach of Major League Soccer side Sporting Kansas City. As a player, he was a striker from 1980 until 2002, notably in the Premier League with Everton where he scored the winning goal in the 1995 FA Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley Stadium. Dale Andrew Gordon (born 9 January 1967) is a former professional association footballer who played predominantly as a right-sided midfielder for Norwich City, Rangers, West Ham United, Peterborough United, Millwall and AFC Bournemouth. David McKellar
David Norwood McKellar (born 22 May 1956) is a Scottish retired professional footballer, best remembered for his time as a goalkeeper in the Football League with Carlisle United, for whom he made 160 appearances for the club over two spells. Andrew Stuart Murray McCall (born 10 June 1964) is a professional football coach and former player. He is assistant manager at Sheffield United. McCall played in a total of 763 league games and in 40 full international matches for Scotland during his playing career.
