Anders Frandsen
Anders Frandsen (8 December 1960 – c. 1 January 2012) was a Denmark, Danish musician, singer, actor and TV presenter. He was born in Copenhagen. Career Although Frandsen was not a trained actor, he appeared in theatre performances during the 1980s. He later became a TV presenter on Danish Kanal 2, alongside Camilla Miehe-Renard. In 1991 he came to fame when he won the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix (the Danish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest) with the song ''Lige der hvor hjertet slår'', composed by Michael Elo. The song didn't do well at the Eurovision Song Contest 1991, 1991 Eurovision Song Contest, and placed 19th with only 8 points. That didn't hurt his popularity however, and the following year at the Danish national final, he was the host. He then became a TV host on TV3 (Denmark), TV3 for the next few years. Eurovision Song Contest 1991
The Eurovision Song Contest 1991 was the 36th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Rome, Italy, following the country's victory at the with the song " Insieme: 1992" by Toto Cutugno and was organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI). The contest was held at Studio 15 di Cinecittà on 4 May 1991 and was hosted by former Italian winners Gigliola Cinquetti and Toto Cutugno. Twenty-two countries took part in the contest with participating for the first time since , and the deciding not to participate. This contest was also the last time that the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia participated, the country would soon be split up opening up new countries to participate in the coming years. It was also the first time that was represented in their reunited form since East Germany joined West Germany by the German reunification. Denmark was represented by Anders Frandsen, with the song "Lige der hvor hjertet slår", at the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 4 May in Rome. "Lige der hvor hjertet slår" was chosen as the Danish entry at the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix on 16 March. Before Eurovision Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 1991 The final was held at the Music Hall in Aarhus, hosted by Camilla Miehe-Renard and Mek Pek. Ten songs took part with the winner being decided by two rounds of televoting. In the first round the bottom five songs were eliminated, then the remaining five were voted on again to give the winner. One of the other participants was Birthe Kjær, who had finished third at Eurovision in 1989.
