1991 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The 1991 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 101st staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The championship began on 13 October 1991 and ended on 10 November 1991. Holycross-Ballycahill were the defending champions. On 10 November 1991, Cashel King Cormacs won the title after a 2–08 to 1–05 defeat of Holycross-Ballycahill in the final at Semple Stadium. It remains their only championship title. South Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The South Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Clonmel Oil South Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the South Tipperary Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1907 for senior hurling teams in South Tipperary, Ireland. The series of games begin in April, with the championship culminating with the final in August. The championship has always been played using a knock-out format. The South Tipperary Championship was, until recent times, an integral part of the wider Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship. The winners and runners-up of the South Tipperary Championship joined their counterparts from the other three divisions to contest the county championship quarter-finals. Cormac Bonnar
Cormac Bonnar (born 31 May 1959) is an Irish retired hurler. His league and championship career with the Tipperary senior team spanned twelve seasons from 1980 to 1992. Bonnar first appeared for the Cashel King Cormacs club at juvenile and underage levels, before eventually joining the club's senior team. The highlight of his club career came in 1991 when he won a Munster medal, having earlier won a county championship medal. Bonnar later played with St Patrick's and Dr Crokes. Bonnar made his debut on the inter-county scene when he was selected for the Tipperary minor team. He enjoyed one unsuccessful championship season with the minor team before subsequently becoming a dual player at under-21 level. With the under-21 hurling team he won back-to-back All-Ireland medals in 1979 and 1980. Bonnar subsequently made his senior debut during the 1980-81 league. Michael Cleary (hurler)
Michael Cleary (born 16 August 1966) is a former Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Nenagh Éire Óg and with the Tipperary senior inter-county team in the 1980s and 1990s. Early life Michael Cleary was born in Nenagh, County Tipperary in 1966. He is the only son of Peg and James Cleary, he was educated locally and later worked in the family newsagent and restaurant. He has two sisters. Playing career Club Cleary played his club hurling with his local Nenagh Éire Óg club and enjoyed much success. In the 1980s he won under-16 and under-21 county medals with the club, as well as North Tipperary, county junior medals and a senior League Division medal. In 1995 Cleary won his only senior county title. Nenagh reached the Munster club final in that year but lost to Sixmilebridge of Clare. Tommy Dunne
Tomás Dunne (born 21 May 1974) is an Irish hurling coach and former player who is from Toomevara, County Tipperary in Ireland. He is the current coach of the Tipperary senior hurling team. Dunne enjoyed a distinguished playing career with Toomevara GAA club and at inter-county level with Tipperary. He was a midfielder on the latter team from 1993 until 2005 and collected one All-Ireland title as captain, two Munster titles, three National Hurling League titles and three All-Star awards. Immediately after retiring from inter-county and club activity, Dunne became involved in team management. He was a selector on the Tipperary minor team that captured the All-Ireland title in that grade in 2007. Ger O'Neill (born 13 October 1962) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a corner-forward for the Tipperary senior team. O'Neill joined the team during the 1982 championship and was a regular member of the team until his retirement almost a decade later. Tony Lanigan (hurler)
Tony Lanigan (born 1968) is an Irish former hurler. At club level he played with Holycross–Ballycahill and was also a member of the Tipperary senior hurling team. Career Lanigan first played hurling at juvenile and underage levels with the Holycross–Ballycahill club. He won a divisional title in the minor grade in 1984, the same year he won a special county title as a schoolboy with Thurles Vocational School. Lanigan eventually progressed onto the club's senior team and won a Tipperary SHC title in 1990 after beating Cashel King Cormacs in the final. He also won four Mid Tipperary SHC titles between 1985 and 1999. At inter-county level, had a two-year tenure with the Tipperary minor hurling team, however, Cork was the dominant team in the championship at the time. Pat O'Neill is a retired Irish people, Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Cappawhite GAA, Cappawhite and with the Tipperary GAA, Tipperary senior inter-county team from 1987 until 1988. Declan Carr
Declan Carr (born 30 July 1965) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a midfielder for the Tipperary senior team. Carr joined the team during the 1988-89 National League and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until he quit the panel after the 1993-94 National League. He made a brief return for the 1999 championship. During that time he won two All-Ireland medals, three Munster medals, one National League medal and one All-Star award. Carr captained the team to the All-Ireland title in 1991. At club level Carr is a one-time county club championship medalist with Holycross–Ballycahill. Golden () is a village in County Tipperary in Ireland. The village is situated on the River Suir. It is located between the towns of Cashel and Tipperary on the N74 road. Cappawhite GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club is located in the village of Cappawhite, County Tipperary, bordering on County Limerick in Republic of Ireland, Ireland.
