1989 Torneo Descentralizado
The 1989 Torneo Descentralizado, the top tier of Peruvian football was played by 42 teams in the format of Regional Tournaments. The national champion was Unión Huaral. Due to the 1989 Copa América, a minor tournament (1989 Torneo Plácido Galindo) was played during the season by 42 clubs. The winner would qualify for the Liguilla Regional II Playoffs. Unión Huaral
Club Unión Huaral is a Peruvian football club, from the city of Huaral. It was founded in 1947 and plays in Peru's Segunda División. History The club was the 1976 and 1989 Peruvian Primera División champion. They were the first club to take the Peruvian title out of the traditional strongholds of Lima and Callao provinces. The club have played at the highest level of Peruvian football on twenty four occasions, from 1974 Torneo Descentralizado until 1991 Torneo Descentralizado, 1993 Torneo Descentralizado, 1995 Torneo Descentralizado, and from 2003 Torneo Descentralizado until 2006 Torneo Descentralizado, when was relegated to the Peruvian Segunda División. Universidad Técnica de Cajamarca (usually referred to as UTC) is the biggest Peruvian football club in the city of Cajamarca, Peru. It was founded in 1964 and play in the Torneo Descentralizado which is the top flight of the Peruvian league. History UTC was officially founded on 14 July 1964 by Oswaldo Silva Marín and Wílder Tejada Arribasplata, clerks at Universidad Técnica de Cajamarca, known today as Universidad Nacional de Cajamarca ( National University of Cajamarca), with the aim of giving the university a place in the local soccer league. Club Alianza Atlético de Sullana is a Peruvian association football, football club, located in the city of Sullana, Piura region, Piura. Asociación Deportiva Tarma, commonly referred as ADT, is a Peruvian association football club, playing in the city of Tarma, Junín. The club was founded in 1929, and currently play in Liga 1, which is the first division of the Peruvian league. History ADT were 1979 Copa Perú champions, after defeating Comercial Aguas Verdes, Defensor Lima, Deportivo Garcilaso, and Universidad Técnica de Cajamarca. The club managed to reach the National Stage of the 2010 Copa Perú, after defeating historic teams like Alianza Universidad and Unión Minas in their group; later they were eliminated by Alianza Unicachi of Puno in the semifinals.
