Vrak
Vrak (stylized as VRΔK) was a Canadian French language specialty channel owned by BCE Inc. subsidiary Bell Media. The channel primarily broadcast live-action programming aimed at 13-to-35 age group audiences. Launched in 1988 as Le Canal Famille, it was originally conceived as French counterpart of the Family Channel under the ownership of Astral Media as well as rival broadcaster YTV, which was also then jointly owned by Rogers Media and CUC Broadcasting at the time. The channel was later renamed to Vrak.TV in 2001 and then was acquired by Bell Media in 2013 upon the acquisition of Astral Media, while the English counterpart and its sister channels were divested to DHX Media (now WildBrain) in 2014. As with the English counterpart, Vrak.TV's programming heavily mirrored that of the American cable network Disney Channel, with which Family held a licensing agreement. TVO (stylized in all lowercase as tvo), formerly known as TVOntario, is a Canadian Public broadcasting, publicly funded English-language educational television network and media organization serving the Canadian province of Ontario. It operates flagship station CICA-DT (channel 19) in Toronto, which also relays programming across portions of Ontario through eight Broadcast relay station#Satellite stations, rebroadcast stations. ''Zardip's Search for Healthy Wellness'' was a Canadian educational television show from the 1980s intended to teach public health messages to children. The show's 13 episode arc featured Zardip Pacific, played by Keram Malicki-Sánchez, a robot alien from a planet whose robot inhabitants are breaking down as they do not know how to live a healthy lifestyle. In a top-secret mission, he is sent to the planet Earth to report the habits of humans to his commander Highship. On Earth, Zardip befriends a group of pre-teens who have a special shed called the Healthy Hideaway, where they hang out and talk about healthy stuff, sports and more. They instruct their new odd and strangely clueless friend Zardip on topics ranging from nutrition, to exercise, to germs all the while unaware of Zardip's true alien identity. Maple Town
''Maple Town'', also known as , is a 1986 Japanese anime series created by Chifude Asakura and directed by Junichi Sato. The series, produced by Toei Animation, Asatsu and Asahi Broadcasting Corporation, consists of 52 half-hour episodes, which aired on ABC, TV Asahi and other ANN stations in Japan from January 19, 1986, to January 11, 1987. The show focuses on the adventures of Patty Rabbit, Bobby Bear and their families, in a small city inhabited by anthropomorphic animals named Maple Town. The series was followed by a 50-episode sequel, ''New Maple Town Stories: Palm Town Chapter'', which retained only Patty Rabbit (and her voice actor, Maya Okamoto) from both series, although Maple Town's citizens made cameos from time to time. Tickle On The Tum
''Tickle on the Tum'' is a series of ten-minute programmes for young children produced by Granada Television and aired on the ITV network from 5 November 1984 until 29 November 1988. The series was set in the General Store and Post Office in the fictional village of Tickle-on-the-Tum (the humorous double-meaning of the title was explained obliquely in the theme song). The original presenters were folk-singer Ralph McTell, fresh from his stint on Granada's other children's series '' Alphabet Zoo'', and Danusia Harwood. From about the middle of the second series, Harwood was replaced by Jacqueline Reddin. In the final series, the setting changed to the newly opened Tickle Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) studios. ''My Secret Identity'' is a television series starring Jerry O'Connell and Derek McGrath. Originally broadcast from October 9, 1988 to May 25, 1991 on CTV in Canada, the series also aired in syndication in the United States. It was later shown in reruns on the Sci-Fi Channel. ''Mount Royal'' was a Canadian prime time television soap opera that aired on CTV. It premiered January 3, 1988 with a two-hour episode. The series starred Patrick Bauchau and Domini Blythe. It is said to be Canada's answer to the American soap opera ''Dynasty''. Setting The series was set in an upscale Montreal neighbourhood. It followed the Valeur family. Andre Valeur his wife Katherine and their three children Danielle, Stefanie and Rob. The Valeur family not only had a home in Montreal but also in Paris and they spent much time there during the show's short run. Production The series was produced by CTV, Alliance Communications and the French production company Société Française de Production. It was filmed in both Montreal and Paris and at the time was one of the most expensive Canadian television productions, with a budget of $17 million.
