The División Profesional de la Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol (; "Professional Division of the Paraguayan Football Association"), also known as the Primera División (; "first division"), or due to sponsorship reasons Copa de Primera TIGO-Visión Banco, is the top-flight professional football league in Paraguay. Currently, there are 12 teams in the first division. The most successful club is Olimpia, with 46 championships. The most recent champions are Olimpia, having won the 2022 Clausura tournament. IFFHS ranked the league as the ninth strongest in the world in 2012, and the eleventh strongest in the world in 2013. Sportivo San Lorenzo
Club Sportivo San Lorenzo, is a Paraguayan football club based in the city of San Lorenzo, affiliated to the Paraguayan Football Association. The club was founded April 17, 1930 and plays in the Paraguayan División Intermedia after suffering relegation in the 2020 Paraguayan Primera División season. The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. History This enterprise, according to its founders, was created in January 1994 by three regulars of the Rec.Sport.Soccer (RSS) Usenet newsgroup: Lars Aarhus, Kent Hedlundh, and Karel Stokkermans. Club Silvio Pettirossi
Club Silvio Pettirossi, is a Paraguayan football club based in the barrio of Republicano, in Asunción. The club was founded March 11, 1926 and plays in the fourth division of the Paraguayan league. Their home games are played at the Bernabé Pedrozo stadium. The club's name was chosen in honor of Silvio Pettirossi, a famous Paraguayan airplane pilot and aviation pioneer. In 2007 they won the Intermedia (Paraguayan second division tournament) and will thus be in the top flight of Paraguayan football in 2008. Club Nacional is a Paraguayan professional football club based in the neighbourhood of Obrero in Asunción. Founded in 1904, the club currently plays in the Paraguayan Primera División, and holds its home games at Estadio Arsenio Erico. Internationally, the club is referred to as Nacional Asunción, in order to distinguish itself from Uruguay's Nacional and Colombia's Atlético Nacional. Club Guaranà is a Paraguayan football team, based in the neighbourhood of Pinozá in outer Asunción. Founded on 12 October 1903, it is one of the oldest and one of the most successful in the country, with eleven Primera División titles, and has never been relegated to a lower division. History Club Guaranà is the second oldest Paraguayan football club. It was founded in 1903 under the name of "Football Club GuaranÃ" and its first president was Juan Patri. The name of the club derives from the Guaranà people, a big part of Paraguayan culture and history.
