Stanley Bruce (Canadian Politician)
Stanley Melbourne Bruce, 1st Viscount Bruce of Melbourne, (15 April 1883 – 25 August 1967) was an Australian politician who was the eighth prime minister of Australia, from 1923 to 1929, as leader of the Nationalist Party. Born into a briefly wealthy Melbourne family, Bruce studied at the University of Cambridge and played a leading role in his family's softgoods firm following the suicide of his father John Munro Bruce. He served on the front lines of the Gallipoli Campaign in World War I and returned to Australia wounded in 1917, becoming a spokesman for government recruitment efforts. He gained the attention of the Nationalist Party and prime minister Billy Hughes, who encouraged a political career. Peter MacLeod
Peter B. MacLeod (October 26, 1930 – May 29, 2001) was a Canadian politician and farmer. He represented 3rd Kings in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1982 to 1989 as a Progressive Conservative. MacLeod was born in 1930 in Lorne Valley, Prince Edward Island. He married Glenda Mae MacLeod in 1953. MacLeod was a farmer by career, and also served as a school trustee. MacLeod attempted to enter provincial politics in the 1978, and 1979 elections, but was defeated both times by Liberal Bud Ings. MacLeod ran again in the 1982 election, and was elected councillor for the electoral district of 3rd Kings. He was re-elected in 1986, but was defeated by Liberal Roberta Hubley when he ran for re-election in 1989. Francis Gerard O'Brien (December 15, 1927 – August 15, 2020) was a Canadian politician and farmer. He represented 2nd Kings in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1982 to 1989 as a Progressive Conservative. O'Brien was born in 1927 in Morell, Prince Edward Island. Prince Edward Island Progressive Conservative Party
The Progressive Conservative Party of Prince Edward Island is one of three major political parties on Prince Edward Island. The party and its rival, the Liberals, have alternated in power since responsible government was granted in 1851. Albert Fogarty
Albert Preston Fogarty (born June 25, 1940) is a former educator and political figure on Prince Edward Island. He represented 1st Kings in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1979 to 1993 as a Conservative. He was born in Cardigan, Prince Edward Island, the son of James Wilfred Fogarty and Julia Morrison, and was educated at Saint Dunstan's University, the University of New Brunswick and Saint Francis Xavier University. In 1963, he married Judith Diane McCabe. He was a high school teacher and principal. Fogarty served as president of the Prince Edward Island Teachers' Federation from 1969 to 1970. He ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the provincial assembly in 1974. He served in the provincial cabinet at Minister of Health and Social Services from 1981 to 1986.
