1986 K-League
The 1986 Korean Football Festival was the fourth season of the top football league in South Korea. Six teams participated in this season. Five of them were professional teams (Jeju United FC, Yukong Elephants, Busan IPark, Daewoo Royals, Pohang Steelers, POSCO Atoms, FC Seoul, Lucky-Goldstar Hwangso and Ulsan Hyundai FC, Hyundai Horang-i) and one was a semi-professional team (Hanil Bank FC, Hanil Bank). Hallelujah FC, the first South Korean first professional football club, changed its status to a semi-professional club and withdrew from the league afterwards. Gimcheon Sangmu FC, Sangmu FC, run by the Republic of Korea Army, Army also withdrew, leaving Hanil Bank as the only semi-professional team in the league. Playing career After graduation of high school, he started his football career with amateur side Korea Electric Power. One year later, he went to ROK Army for military duty. Ham Hyun-Gi (함현기; born April 26, 1962, in Gangneung, South Korea) is a South Korean footballer. He played in the Korean Professional Football League (K-League) for the Hyundai Horang-i, LG Cheetahs in South Korea and in the former Japan Football League (JFL) for the Oita Trinity in Japan. He debuted in the K-League in 1986 playing for the Hyundai Horang-i. In the K-League's 1986 season he was awarded the Rookie of the Year award for his outstanding play having scored 8 goals during the regular season and 9 goals in the Korean Professional Championship of 1986. He was selected a Korean national footballer for the first time in July 1982. However, he suffered from injuries and was unable to play very many matches.
