1984–85 Albanian Cup
1984–85 Albanian Cup () was the thirty-third season of Albania's annual cup competition. It began in August 1984 with the First Round and ended in February 1985 with the Final match. The winners of the competition qualified for the 1985-86 first round of the UEFA Europa League. 17 Nëntori were the defending champions, having won their sixth Albanian Cup last season. The cup was won by Flamurtari. The rounds were played in a two-legged format similar to those of European competitions. If the aggregated score was tied after both games, the team with the higher number of away goals advanced. Flamurtari FC
Flamurtari FC is a professional football club based in Vlorë, Albania. The club plays in the Kategoria e Parë, which is the second tier of football in the country. Founded in 1923, the club is one of the oldest in Albania, and it is also one of the most successful clubs, having won one Albanian Superliga title in 1991 four Albanian Cups and two Albanian Supercups. Flamurtari is also known for their European runs in the 1980s, where they famously reached the last sixteen in the 1987–88 UEFA Cup, where they beat Spanish giants Barcelona in Vlorë but lost on aggregate. KF Apolonia is an Albanian football club based in Fier. The club was founded on 17 June 1925 and took its name from the nearby ruins of the ancient city of Apollonia. The club currently compete in the Kategoria e Parë and they play their home games at the Loni Papuçiu Stadium. Elbasan
Elbasan ( ; sq-definite, Elbasani ) is the fourth most populous city of Albania and seat of Elbasan County and Elbasan Municipality. Elbasan Arena
Elbasan Arena ( sq, Elbasan Arena, formerly known as Ruzhdi Bizhuta) is a multi-purpose stadium in Elbasan, Albania. The stadium was completed in 1967 and has been the home ground of KF Elbasani ever since. The stadium was under reconstruction and was officially inaugurated on 8 October 2014 in time for the match against Denmark, valid for the qualifiers of UEFA Euro 2016, with total capacity of 12,800, making it the 3rd largest in Albania, after the Air Albania Stadium in Tirana. History Elbasan Arena first opened in 1967 under the name of Ruzhdi Bizhuta Stadion who was one of KF Elbasani’s most famous players. Agim Bubeqi
Agim Bubeqi (born 7 April 1963) is a retired Albanian footballer who played his entire professional career as a striker for Flamurtari Vlorë. International career He made his debut for Albania in an April 1987 Euro Championship qualification match against Austria and earned a total of 6 caps, scoring no goals. His final international was a November 1989 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Poland. Personal life Bubeqi was arrested by police in Vlorë on 16 July 2009 after stabbing a young man to death in front of a bar and injuring four others. It was reported Bubeqi suffered from mental problems after being involved a car accident in August the year before and that he thought the victims were making fun of him. Vasil Ruci (born 17 February 1958 in Vlorë) is an Albanian retired football player and coach who spent his entire career with Flamurtari Vlorë between 1976 and 1993. Away Goals Rule
The away goals rule is a method of tiebreaker, tiebreaking in association football and other sports when teams play each other twice, once at each team's home ground. Under the away goals rule, if the total goals scored by each team are equal, the team that has scored more goals "Road (sports), away from home" wins. This is sometimes expressed by saying that away goals "count double" in the event of a tie, though in practice the team with more away goals is simply recorded as the victor, rather than having additional or 'double' goals added to their total. KF Lushnja is an Albanian football (soccer), football club based in the city of Lushnjë in the County of Fier. KF Naftëtari, also known as Naftëtari Kuçovë, is an Albanian football club based in Kuçovë, Albania. Their home ground is the Bashkim Sulejmani Stadium and they currently compete in the Kategoria e Dytë. Naftëtari means ''Oilmen'', with Kuçovë being the centre of the Albanian oil industry.
