French Television
Television in France was introduced in 1931, Timeline of the introduction of television in countries, when the first experimental broadcasts began. Colour television was introduced in October 1967 on France 2, La Deuxième Chaîne. Digital terrestrial television The digital terrestrial television platform was launched on 31 March 2005 after a short testing period. Like Freeview (UK), Freeview in the UK, it provides many new channels, as well as the current terrestrial television stations. Like the rest of Europe, France uses the DVB-T transmission technology. The 13 first digital free channels were launched on 31 March 2005. In October, 4 additional free channels were added: the 24h news channels BFM TV and I-Télé, the music and entertainment youth channel Europe 2 TV, and the free children channel Gulli, joint-venture between Lagardère Active and France Télévisions. Robert Beauvais
Robert Beauvais (6 March 1911 – 23 February 1982) was a French writer and journalist. He was married twice, to Gisèle Parry and Ginette Garcin. From his first marriage he had a daughter, Élisabeth Beauvais, a musician known as Clothilde. Among his friends were Guy des Cars, Jacques Rueff, Maurice Boitel, and Françoise Sagan. Some of his works were later adapted by Jean Yanne. Karine Ferri (born 25 April 1982) is a French television presenter and model. Early life and education Karine Ferri was born Karine Jalabert in Suresnes in the department of Hauts-de-Seine, to a French father and a Portuguese mother. She grew up in Rueil-Malmaison with her older brother David. After obtaining her high school final exam and studying modern literature at university, she started a modeling career. Onekama ( ) is a village in Manistee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 411 at the 2010 census. The village is located on the shores of Portage Lake and is surrounded by Onekama Township. The town's name is derived from "Ona-ga-maa," an Anishinaabe word which means "singing water." Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of , all land. The M-22 highway runs through downtown Onekama. History The predecessor of the village of Onekama was the settlement of Portage at Portage Point, first established in 1845, at the western end of Portage, at the outlet of Portage Creek. In 1871, when landowners around the land-locked lake became exasperated with the practices of the Portage Sawmill, they took the solution into their own hands and dug a channel through the narrow isthmus, opening a waterway that lowered the lake by 12 to 14 feet and brought it to the same level as Lake Michigan. ''Aujourd'hui'' (, ''Today'') was a daily newspaper which styled itself as "independent" and which was created in August 1940 by Henri Jeanson, to replace ''le Canard enchaîné'' under agreement with the Germans. The first issue appeared on 10 September 1940. In November 1940, the German authorities pressured the director into taking a public position against the Jews and in favour of politics of collaboration with the Vichy regime. Jeanson resigned, and was succeeded by the journalist Georges Suarez. ''Aujourd'hui'' was far from innocent in its pursuit of those responsible for the 1940 defeat of France, resorting to the myth of the "clean sweep of the broom" in its notorious Anglophobia. It began to reflect the narrative of Marshal Philippe Pétain and of German propaganda. The paper was in favour of the Riom trials which were set up to punish the members of the pre-war government who were allegedly responsible for France's defeat in 1940. 30 millions d'amis (English: "30 million friends") is a French television program, a French monthly magazine with its posters, and a French foundation: the Fondation 30 Millions d'Amis. All three focus on pets, especially cats, dogs, horses, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, mice, canaries, parakeets, parrots, terrarium reptiles, goldfish, aquarium fish, and other exotic pets, but also wild animals like for example, bonobos and cheetahs.
