1979–80 FIBA European Cup Winners' Cup
The 1979–80 FIBA European Cup Winners' Cup was the fourteenth edition of FIBA's 2nd-tier level European-wide professional club basketball competition, contested between national domestic cup champions, running from 30 October 1979, to 19 March 1980. It was contested by 22 teams, two more than in the previous edition. Emerson Varese defeated the former champions, Gabetti Cantù, in a final held in Milan, winning the FIBA European Cup Winner's Cup for the second time. FIBA Saporta Cup
The FIBA Saporta Cup was the name of the second-tier level European-wide professional club basketball competition, where the domestic National Cup winners, from all over Europe, played against each other. The competition was organized by FIBA Europe. It was named after the late Raimundo Saporta, a former Real Madrid director. Doncaster Panthers

Initially the team participated in an Anglo-American League based in a hangar on Doncaster Airport (where The Dome Leisure Centre is now) and the Sheffield and District League. In 1957, the Doncaster and District Basketball Association was formed with a League comprising seven teams. In 1960, the Panthers participated in an International Basketball Tournament in Dublin. In 1961 and 1964, the Panthers played exhibition matches against US Menwith Hill of Harrogate and RAF Bomber Command respectively in the Doncaster Corn Exchange (no mean feat) and in 1965 played against St. Germain in France being the start of many twinned basketball visits between the two towns. B.B.C. Amicale Steesel is a Luxembourgish professional basketball club based in Steinsel. The club is one of the most successful in Luxembourg, as Amicale has won seven national championships. History Founded in 1947, BBC Amicale was the first Luxembourg club with its own clubhouse and private sports hall, where the club was based in 1958. These good structural conditions were not initially reflected in sporting performance and it was only in the early-1970s the club established itself as the top team in the highest Luxembourg Basketball League, winning the championship in 1970-71 and 1972-73. Caen Basket Calvados is a French basketball team located in the commune of Caen in Northwestern France. The club competes in LNB Pro B, France's second-division men's league.
