Bruno Bozzetto
Bruno Bozzetto (born 3 March 1938) is an Italian cartoon animator and film director, creator of many short pieces, mainly of a political or satirical nature. He created his first animated short "Tapum! the weapons' story" in 1958 at the age of 20. His most famous character, a hapless little man named " Signor Rossi" (Mr. Rossi), has been featured in many animated shorts as well as starring in three feature films: '' Mr. Rossi Looks for Happiness'' (1976), '' Mr. Rossi's Dreams'' (1977), and '' Mr. Rossi's Vacation'' (1977). Biography In 1965, Bozzetto produced his first feature-length animated film: ''West and Soda'', a parody of American Western films. Ottawa International Animation Festival
The Ottawa International Animation Festival is an annual animated film and media festival that takes place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The OIAF was founded in 1975, with the first festival held from August 10 to 15 in 1976. Initially organized by the Canadian Film Institute on a biennial basis and with the co-operation of the International Animated Film Association, the Festival organization now remains in the hands of the CFI. It moved from a biennial to an annual festival in 2005. Today the festival is recognized as the largest animation festival in North America, and regularly attracts upwards of 25,000 attendees when it is held each September. Brian Joseph Cosgrove OBE (born 6 April 1934) is an English animator, designer, director, producer and sculptor, best known as the creator of the animated children shows '' Danger Mouse'' and ''Count Duckula''. In 2012 he won the BAFTA Special Award. Early life Born in Manchester, Cosgrove studied at Manchester College of Art and Design. It was there he met his future work partner Mark Hall. Career Cosgrove started his career by producing television graphics at Granada Television. ''The Twelve Tasks of Asterix'' (''Les Douze travaux d'Astérix'') is a 1976 Belgian/French animated feature film based on the ''Asterix'' comic book series, and the third in the animated franchise. René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, the creators of the series, wrote the story and directed the film themselves; with co-direction by Pierre Watrin and the screenplay co-written by Pierre Tchernia, a friend of Goscinny and Uderzo. The film was directed, produced and animated at Goscinny and Uderzo's own animation studio, Studios Idéfix and is the only Asterix animated film that has used the Xerography Process. At the time of its release, the film received mixed reviews since its tone is more cartoony and frequently breaks the fourth wall. Raymond Leblanc (born 22 May 1915 – 21 March 2008) was a Belgian comic book publisher, film director and film producer, best known for publishing works such as ''The Adventures of Tintin'' by Hergé and ''Blake and Mortimer'' by Edgar P. Jacobs. He debuted, published, and promoted many of the most famous Franco-Belgian comics. Leblanc and his two partners created Le Lombard publishing, ''Tintin'' magazine, PubliArt advertising agency, and Belvision Studios. Biography Raymond Leblanc was a resistance fighter during the Second World War in the '' Mouvement National Royaliste'' (MNR) group. When the war ended in 1945, Leblanc set up new offices at 55 rue du Lombard, establishing his publishing house, Le Lombard. ''The Smurfs and the Magic Flute'' (french: La Flûte à six schtroumpfs, lit. ''The Flute of Six Smurfs'') is a 1976 Belgian animated film starring the Smurfs, directed by their creator, Peyo. Although the film premiered in 1976 in Belgium, it was not released in the United Kingdom until 1979, and in the United States until 1983, in the wake of the characters' newfound popularity. Although the Smurfs play a major part, they do not appear until 35 minutes into the film. It is set in the Middle Ages and mainly concerns Johan and Peewit, a young squire and his jester sidekick. Johan and Peewit were created by Peyo in 1952 and it was in their adventures that the Smurfs were first introduced in 1958. is a Japanese series created by Kyoko Mizuki. The main character, Candice "Candy" White Ardley is a blonde girl with freckles, large emerald green eyes and long hair, worn in pigtails with bows. ''Jabberjaw'' is an American animated television series created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears and produced by Hanna-Barbera which aired 16 original episodes on ABC from September 11 to December 18, 1976.
