Chilean Primera División
The Chilean Primera División (English: First Division) is the top-tier league of the Chilean football league system. It is organized by the ''Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional, ANFP''. The league is known as the Campeonato AFP PlanVital for sponsorship reasons. Format As of the 2018 season, 16 teams compete in the league, playing against each other two times, home and away. Relegation and promotion Currently, the two teams with the worst scores in the season, are relegated to Primera B, and replaced by the Champions and Runners-up of this Division. Qualification for international competitions The champions of the Campeonato are immediately qualified to the Copa Libertadores for the next year, as well as the second and third place. Lota Schwager is a Chilean professional team based in Coronel that currently play in Tercera A (fourth-tier). History Following the merger between Federico Schwager and Minas Lota (teams that competed in Campeonato Regional de Concepción representing Lota and Schwager companies), the club was established on 10 May 1966 under the name of ''"Lota Schwager"'', making reference to both companies latest mentioned. Carlos Humberto Caszely Garrido (born 5 July 1950 in Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean former footballer, nicknamed "Rey del metro cuadrado" ( en, King of the square meter, pt, O Rei do Metro Quadrado), who played as a forward. Regarded as one of Chile's most important players, between 1969 and 1985, Caszely won 48 caps and scored 29 goals for the Chile national team, including participations in the 1974 and 1982 World Cups. Rogelio Farías Salvador (13 August 1949 – 6 April 1995) was a Chilean football midfielder who played for Chile in the 1974 FIFA World Cup. He also played for Unión Española. Career A historical player of Unión Española, he made his debut in 1968 at the age of nineteen. Juan Carlos Sarnari (22 January 1942 – 21 April 2023) was an Argentine footballer who played as a midfielder. He scored 29 goals in the Copa Libertadores, making him the 6th-highest scoring player in Copa Libertadores history. Playing career Sarnari started his career at River Plate at the age of 17. In 1963 he spent a season with Huracán. He returned to River in 1964. In 1966 Sarnari was selected to represent the Argentina national team at the 1966 FIFA World Cup. Francisco Segundo Valdés Muñoz, (19 March 1943 - 10 August 2009), nicknamed Chamaco, was a Chilean footballer and manager. Unión San Felipe is a Chilean Football club, their hometown is San Felipe in the V Región of Valparaíso. They play in the second level of the Chilean football league, the Primera B. Club de Deportes Santiago Wanderers is a football club based in Valparaíso, a founding member of the Chilean Football Federation. Their home ground, Estadio Elías Figueroa Brander, is in the north-west of the city. Wanderers have played their games there since 1931 after moving from Barrio Puerto. Founded on 15 August 1892, it's the country's oldest club and the oldest football team in Latin America as well.
