The 1971 Speedway World Team Cup was the 12th edition of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme, FIM Speedway World Team Cup to determine the team world champions. Fédération Internationale De Motocyclisme
The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM; en, International Motorcycling Federation) is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. It represents 116 national motorcycle federations that are divided into six regional continental unions. There are seven motorcycle-racing disciplines that FIM covers, encompassing 82 world championships as well as hundreds of secondary championships: enduro, trial, circuit racing, motocross and supermoto, cross-country, e-bike, and track racing. FIM is also involved in many non-racing activities that promote the sport, its safety, and support relevant public policy. The FIM is also the first international sporting federation to publish an Environmental Code, in 1994. Grigory Khlinovsky
Grigory Khlinovsky is a former international speedway rider from the Soviet Union. Speedway career Khlinovsky reached the final of the Speedway World Championship on three consecutive years, in the 1972 Individual Speedway World Championship, 1973 Individual Speedway World Championship and the 1974 Individual Speedway World Championship. He was one of six Russians that competed in the 1972 World final after strong performances in the Continental final and European final. He was the senior coach of "Signal" team (Rivne) (1982-1989). Under his leadership "Signal" became the champion of the USSR for three times in a row (1985-1987). He was the senior coach of KAMAZ (Rivne) in 1990 and Signal (Rivne) in 1991. Bengt Gustaf Jansson (born 9 January 1943 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a former Swedish international speedway rider. "Banger" was runner up in the 1967 World Final to fellow countryman Ove Fundin after losing a race-off and finished third in 1971, again after a run-off. He rode in Britain for West Ham Hammers, Edinburgh Monarchs, Hackney Hawks, Reading Racers, and finally the Birmingham Brummies. Sören Sjösten
Sören Willy Ernfrid Sjösten (born 12 December 1938, Krylbo, Sweden, died 1999) was a motorcycle speedway rider. He won the world pairs championship in 1974 with Anders Michanek and became world team champion three times representing Sweden, in 1962, 1964 and 1970. Sjösten also appeared in six individual World Championship Finals with two bronze medals as best result. Both third places was received after losing race-off heats for silver medal, the first time to Barry Briggs and the second time to Ivan Mauger Sjösten rode for Masarna, Vargarna and Bysarna in the Swedish leagues and for Belle Vue Aces, Wolverhampton Wolves and Bristol Bulldogs in the British League. An excellent starter, he was renowned for having a 'wild' style of riding with the rear of the bike sliding further out on the bends than is usual and was often considered rough on his opponents. Anders Michanek
Anders Michanek (born 30 May 1943 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Speedway rider. In 1974 he won the Speedway World Championship in his Swedish homeland with a maximum score of 15 points. Career Michanek had a very successful career riding in the British League. He initially signed for the Long Eaton Archers in 1967 before going on to ride for various clubs including Leicester Lions, Newcastle Diamonds, Reading Racers, Ipswich Witches and Cradley Heathens. Andrzej Wyglenda (born 4 May 1941 in Rybnik, Poland) is a former Polish motorcycle speedway rider who has won 1971 Speedway World Pairs Championship and Speedway World Team Cup three times. Antoni Woryna (born 15 February 1941 in Rybnik, Poland - died 14 December 2002) was an international motorcycle speedway rider who appeared in the Speedway World Championship finals five times, and was the first Polish rider to win a medal at that level when he won the bronze medal in 1966. Viktor Trofimov
Viktor Ivanovich Trofimov (russian: Виктор Иванович Трофимов) (22 March 1938 – 1 October 2013) is a former Soviet international speedway rider who reached the final of the Speedway World Championship in 1972 and 1975. He also finished on the rostrum of the World Team Cup nine times between 1965 and 1976 but never won a gold medal. He achieved four silver (1966, 1971, 1972, 1975) and three bronze (1967, 1969, 1973) medals. In the speedway team championship of the USSR he rode for 18 years for the team, "Raduga" (Rovno) and won two bronze medals. First race - April 30, 1960; retirement - October 15, 1995.
