1969 World Cup (men's Golf)
The 1969 World Cup took place 2–5 October at Singapore Island Country Club in Singapore. It was the 17th World Cup event. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 45 teams. Each team consisted of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. The American team of Orville Moody and Lee Trevino won by eight strokes over the Japan team of Takaaki Kono and Haruo Yasuda. This was the tenth victory for the United States in the history of the World Cup, until 1967 named the Canada Cup. The individual competition was won by Trevino one stroke ahead of Roberto De Vicenzo, Argentina. Hsu Chi-san
Hsu Chi-san (born 17 January 1938) is a Taiwanese professional golfer. During his career he won many tournaments in the Asia-Pacific region, including the Philippine, Taiwan and Singapore national opens on the Asia Golf Circuit. Professional career Hsu's first notable performances were at his national open, the Taiwan Open. He won the event in 1965. He attempted to defend his championship the following year and was successful early, holding a share of the lead after the first round. However, he ultimately lost the title to countryman Lu Liang-Huan. In the mid-1960s, Hsu also started playing on the Asia Golf Circuit. He shot an opening round 68 (−4) at the 1967 Thailand Open to take a two shot. Hsieh Yung-yo (, born 23 October 1934) is a Taiwanese professional golfer. Hsieh had great success playing throughout Asia, winning 16 national opens. Manuel Francisco Morales (July 23, 1919 – November 12, 2009) was a Honduran-born American biophysicist who did pivotal research on the molecular basis of muscle contraction. George Knudson
George Alfred Christian Knudson, CM (June 28, 1937 – January 24, 1989) was a Canadian professional golfer, who along with Mike Weir holds the record for the Canadian with the most wins on the PGA Tour, with eight career victories. Early life and career Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Knudson learned to play golf at the St. Charles Country Club. He won the 1954 and 1955 Manitoba Junior Championships, and the 1955 Canadian Junior Championship. He moved to Toronto in 1958, and worked at the Oakdale Golf Club, where he received instruction and encouragement from the Club, to improve his game. Allan George Balding (April 29, 1924 – July 30, 2006) was a Canadian professional golfer, who won four events on the PGA Tour. In 1955 he became the first Canadian to win a PGA Tour event in the United States; Canadians Ken Black (1936 Vancouver Jubilee Open), Jules Huot (1937 General Brock Open) and Pat Fletcher (1954 Canadian Open) had won PGA Tour events in Canada.
