Castleford Tigers
The Castleford Tigers are a professional rugby league club in Castleford, West Yorkshire, England, that compete in the Super League, the top-level professional rugby league club competition in the Northern Hemisphere. The club have competed in the top division for the majority of their existence, having only been relegated twice in their history. They have won the Challenge Cup four times. Their most recent major trophy was the 1986 Challenge Cup. Castleford have a rivalry with neighbours Featherstone Rovers and Wakefield Trinity. Jack Brennan is an English former professional rugby league footballer who played as a . Born in Wigan, Brennan began his career at Blackpool Borough, and went on to play for Salford and Warrington. He also represented Lancashire. Career Club career Brennan started his rugby league career with Blackpool Borough, joining the club at the age of seventeen. In August 1959, he joined Salford for a fee of £5,000. In 1969, he played in the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium against Castleford, which Salford lost 6–11. David Watkins (born 5 March 1942) is a Welsh former dual-code rugby international, having played both rugby union and rugby league football for both codes' national teams between 1963 and 1974. He captained the British and Irish Lions rugby union side, and made six appearances for the Great Britain rugby league team. Stuart David Whitehead (born 17 July 1976) is an English former footballer. He played as a right-back or centre-back. Career Born in Bromsgrove, Whitehead began his career at his hometown club Bromsgrove Rovers. After a season with the club, he joined then- Premiership Bolton Wanderers in 1995 on a free transfer. Bolton were relegated in his first season with them, but won promotion back to the Premier League in the following season. After another top-flight season, Bolton and Whitehead parted company, with Whitehead never appearing for the club. A regular starting role at Carlisle United followed, with Carlisle spending the whole period near the bottom of the Football League.
