1965–66 Montenegrin Republic League
The 1965–66 Montenegrin Republic League was 21st season of Montenegrin Republic League. Season started in August 1965 and finished in May 1966. Season Except the teams from previous year, a new member of the competition were Dečić and Tekstilac. Dečić replaced a last placed team from previous season ( Gorštak), while Tekstilac won the place emptied after the promotion of Lovćen to 1965-66 Second League. At the end of 18 weeks long competition, Rudar with four points more than OFK Titograd. With that result, Rudar participated in the qualifiers for Yugoslav Second League. After the autumn stage, Tekstilac withdrawn from competition due to technical difficulties. Montenegrin Republic League
Montenegrin Republic League (Montenegrin: ''Crnogorska republička liga'' / ''Црногорска републичка лига'') was the third tier football league of SFR Yugoslavia. The top clubs were promoted to Yugoslav Second League. Overview Founded in spring 1946, Montenegrin Republic League was the oldest football competition in Montenegro after WWII. It existed 60 years, and most of the time it was the third tier of competition (after First League and Second League). In inaugural season (1946) in Montenegrin Republic League played only four clubs – FK Budućnost, FK Lovćen, FK Sutjeska and FK Arsenal. Montenegrin Clubs In Yugoslav Football Competitions (1946–2006)
Before the independence of Montenegro, football clubs from that country played in different competitions. From 1945 to 2006, Montenegrin club played in the leagues of SFR Yugoslavia, FR Yugoslavia and the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro. Upon the independence referendum, Montenegrin Football Association established their own competitions, with the Montenegrin First League as a top tier. Montenegrin Republic Cup (1947–2006)
The Montenegrin Republic Cup was cup competition for Montenegrin lower-tier clubs in the period while Montenegro was a part of SFR Yugoslavia, FR Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro. Winners and often a finalist of Montenegrin Republic Cup participated in the Yugoslav Cup and Serbia and Montenegro Cup. Competition played from 1947 to 2006, and after independence of Montenegro is succeeded by Montenegrin Cup. Format and participants During the existence of SFR Yugoslavia, Montenegrin Republic Cup had 32 participants or more. But, after the 1992, in Republic Cup participated 16 clubs. Participants of Cup were the clubs which did not play in First Yugoslav league - mostly members of Second League and Montenegrin Republic League, and the winners and finalists of Montenegrin Regional Cups (northern, central, southern). 1965–66 Yugoslav Second League
The 1965–66 Yugoslav Second League season was the 20th season of the Second Federal League ( sh, Druga savezna liga), the second level association football competition of SFR Yugoslavia, since its establishment in 1946. The league was contested in two regional groups (West Division and East Division), with 18 clubs each, two more than in the previous season. West Division Teams A total of eighteen teams contested the league, including thirteen sides from the 1964–65 season and five sides promoted from the third tier leagues played in the 1964–65 season. The league was contested in a double round robin format, with each club playing every other club twice, for a total of 34 rounds. Two points were awarded for wins and one point for draws. There were no teams relegated from the 1964–65 Yugoslav First League. The five clubs promoted to the second level were Bosna, Leotar, Segesta, Slovan and Zadar. Fudbalski Klub Budućnost Podgorica (Cyrillic: Будућност Подгорица, , lit. "Future") is a Montenegrin football club from Podgorica, Montenegro. It is competing in the Montenegrin First League. Its colours are blue and white. Founded in 1925, Budućnost was the Montenegrin club with most appearances in the Yugoslav First League, debuting in 1946. Due to the city being renamed during the communist rule in Yugoslavia, Budućnost was known as ''Budućnost Titograd'' throughout that era. Fudbalski klub Sutjeska (Serbian Cyrillic: Фудбалски клуб Сутјеска) is football club from Nikšić, Montenegro, currently competing in the Montenegrin First League. FK Rabotnichki ( mk, ФК Работнички) or more commonly Rabotnički (old transliteration) and Rabotnicki is a football club that plays at the Toshe Proeski Arena in Skopje, North Macedonia. They currently compete in the Macedonian First League. History FK Rabotnichki was founded in 1937 as SK Radnički Skoplje. It is widely regarded as the ‘railway football club’. Fudbalski klub Lovćen is a football club based in Cetinje, Montenegro. It was founded on 20 June 1913. It was named after Mount Lovćen near Cetinje. Lovćen is the oldest football club in Montenegro and one of the oldest in Southeastern Europe. Today, Lovćen is a member of Montenegrin Third League. Fudbalski klub Gorštak ( en, Football Club Gorštak Kolašin) is a football club from Kolašin, Montenegro. Founded in 1927, they have competed in the Montenegrin Third League. History FK Gorštak was founded in 1927, as a first football team from Kolašin. During the next decade, the team played in the Montenegrin Football Championship, but without any significant success.Most known game in Kolašin from that time was against notable Montenegrin side FK Budućnost (1-7), which was attended by 1,000 spectators.
