1965 Canada Cup
The 1965 Canada Cup took place 30 September – 3 October at the Real Sociedad Hípica Española Club de Campo in Madrid, Spain. It was the 13th Canada Cup event, which became the World Cup in 1967. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 37 teams. These were the same teams that had competed in 1964 but with the addition of Czechoslovakia, Monaco and Morocco. Each team consisted of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. The South African team of Harold Henning and Gary Player won by eight strokes over the Spanish team of Ángel Miguel and Ramón Sota. Jiri ( ne, जिरी) is a municipality in Dolakha District in the Bagmati Province of central Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 13,638 people.. Enrique Orellana (born c. 1936) is a retired Chilean professional golfer. Orellana had the distinction of being the only Chilean golfer in history to participate in the Masters Tournament (1964) until Matías Domínguez played in the tournament in 2015. Toto Gana (2017) and Joaquín Niemann (2018) also qualified for the Masters, by winning the Latin America Amateur Championship in their respective years. Martín Ureta, Hugo León, and Guillermo Pereira, who played in the U.S. Open in 2007, 2010, and 2019, respectively, are other Chileans who have played in a major golf championship. George Knudson
George Alfred Christian Knudson, CM (June 28, 1937 – January 24, 1989) was a Canadian professional golfer, who along with Mike Weir holds the record for the Canadian with the most wins on the PGA Tour, with eight career victories. Early life and career Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Knudson learned to play golf at the St. Charles Country Club. He won the 1954 and 1955 Manitoba Junior Championships, and the 1955 Canadian Junior Championship. He moved to Toronto in 1958, and worked at the Oakdale Golf Club, where he received instruction and encouragement from the Club, to improve his game. He was then able to secure some financial backing to try the PGA Tour. He won the Manitoba Open in 1958, 1959, and 1960, and the Ontario Open in 1960, 1961, 1971, 1976 and 1978. Wilf Homenuik
Wilfred Homenuik (born December 30, 1935) is a Canadian professional golfer. His surname is also spelled Homeniuk in many records. Homenuik was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan, and is one of seven brothers, many of whom have also played golf, most notably Stan and Ted. He has appeared in seven Canadian Opens and three World Cups. Together with Moe Norman and George Knudson, Homenuik is regarded as one of the greatest Canadian golfers of his time, and has been inducted into many golf Halls of Fame. Later career Homenuik became the head professional of the Highlands Golf Course in London, Ontario, in 1976. Mário Gonzalez (22 November 1922 – 29 July 2019) was a Brazilian professional golfer. He was one of the first players from his country to have enjoyed success on the international circuit and was known as the "father of Brazilian golf". Amateur career As an amateur, Gonzalez had a great deal of success and built a reputation around the world. He won the Brazil Amateur Championship nine times, the Brazil Open twice, the Argentine Open in 1941, and the Spanish Open in 1947. He also played in several tournaments and matches in the United States; in 1941 he finished in a tie for sixth place in Chicago Open and tied a match with Bobby Jones.
