Bjørn Tidmand
Bjørn Tidmand (born 24 January 1940 in Copenhagen) is a Danish singer, best known for his participation in the 1964 Eurovision Song Contest. After being a member of the Copenhagen Boys Choir as a child, Tidmand began performing in local nightclubs and signed a recording contract in 1959, having a hit with a Danish-language version of "Only Sixteen". In 1963, Tidmand took part in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix to choose the country's Eurovision Song Contest entry, and finished in second place behind Grethe & Jørgen Ingmann, who went on to win that year's Eurovision for Denmark. The Eurovision Song Contest 1964 was the 9th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, following the country's victory at the with the song "Dansevise" by Grethe & Jørgen Ingmann. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Danmarks Radio (DR), the contest was held at Tivolis Koncertsal on 21 March 1964, and was hosted by Danish TV presenter Lotte Wæver. Sixteen countries participated in the contest. made its debut this year, while decided not to enter. Denmark was represented by Bjørn Tidmand, with the song "Sangen om dig", at the 1964 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 21 March in Copenhagen following the victory of Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann for Denmark the previous year. "Sangen om dig" was chosen as the Danish entry at the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix on 15 February. Before Eurovision Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 1964 The DMGP was held at the Tivoli in Copenhagen, hosted by Bent Fabricius-Bjerre. Nine songs took part, with the winner chosen by postcard voting. Only the top 3 placings are known, and the fact that "Sangen om dig" would seem to have gained a comprehensive victory as it received 43.8% of all votes cast (102,171 out of 233,465). Tivoli Concert Hall ( da, Tivolis Koncertsal) is a 1,660-capacity concert hall at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark. The building, which was designed by Frits Schlegel and Hans Hansen, was built between 1954 and 1956. The concert hall is used for classical music (e.g. Tivoli Symphony Orchestra), Broadway musicals, and jazz musicians. History The hall used to host pop and rock concerts. "Non ho l'età (per amarti)" (Italian for "I'm not old enough (to love you)"), usually given as just "Non ho l'età" (), was the winning song in the Eurovision Song Contest 1964, held in Copenhagen. It was performed in Italian by Gigliola Cinquetti representing . Like all previous Italian Eurovision entries, the song had also won that year's Sanremo Music Festival. Gigliola Cinquetti (; born Giliola Cinquetti on 20 December 1947) is an Italian singer, songwriter, and television presenter. Life and career Gigliola Cinquetti was born into a wealthy family in Verona. From the ages of 9 to 13, she studied and took piano lessons, taking exams in music theory. She loves painting and art. Her career as a professional singer began when she was 16. At the age of 16 she won the Sanremo Music Festival in 1964 singing "Non ho l'età" ("I'm not old enough"), with music composed by Mario Panzeri and lyrics by Nicola Salerno. Mek Pek (born 4 January 1964) is a Danish singer and actor from Aarhus. Mek started his career in 1979 in the punk band ''Lost Kids'' in which he played the bass.
