1954 Caen Grand Prix
The 3rd Grand Prix de Caen was a motor race, run to Formula One rules, held on 25 July 1954 at the Circuit de la Prairie, Caen. The race was run over 60 laps of the circuit, and was won by French driver Maurice Trintignant in a Ferrari 625, who started from pole position. British driver Stirling Moss in a Maserati 250F finished a close second and set fastest lap. Gordini driver Jacques Pollet shared third place with Jean Behra after Behra crashed his own car earlier in the race. Écurie Rosier
Écurie Rosier and Équipe Rosier were names used by French racing driver Louis Rosier to enter his own cars in Formula One between 1950 and his death in 1956. Commonly the vehicles were entered for Rosier himself, but he also provided cars for a number of other drivers during the period. Between 1950 and 1957 Ecurie Rosier collected a total fifteen World Championship points and one podium finish. Formula One Louis Rosier began entering cars in Formula One under his own name in 1950, first with a Talbot-Lago T26C with some success, recording two points-scoring finishes from his nine World Championship entries in 1950 and 1951. He also entered cars for Henri Louveau and Louis Chiron during these seasons. The 1956 Caen Grand Prix was a motor race, run to Formula One rules, held on 26 August 1956 at the Circuit de la Prairie, Caen. The race was run in very wet conditions over 70 laps of the circuit, and was won by over a minute by American driver Harry Schell in a Maserati 250F. British driver Roy Salvadori set pole and fastest lap.
