The 1948 Albanian National Championship was the eleventh season of the Albanian National Championship, the top professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1930. Overview It was contested by 14 teams, and Partizani won the championship. Kategoria Superiore
The Kategoria Superiore, officially known as Abissnet Superiore for sponsorship reasons, is a professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Albanian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. It is contested by 10 clubs, and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Kategoria e Parë. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 36 matches each (playing each team in the league four times, twice at home and twice away). The competition was founded in 1930 as the Albanian National Championship during the reign of King Zog, shortly after the creation of the Albanian Football Association. KF Erzeni
Klubi Futbollit Erzeni Shijak is an Albanian football club based in Shijak. They currently compete in the Kategoria Superiore, which is the first tier of Albanian football, and they play their home games at the Tefik Jashari Stadium. Qemal Stafa Stadium
The Qemal Stafa Stadium ( sq, Stadiumi Qemal Stafa), named after Qemal Stafa (1920–1942), a Albanian Resistance of World War II, World War II hero, was a national stadium and the largest football (soccer), football stadium in Tirana, Albania. Construction started in 1939 and the stadium was inaugurated in 1946 for the Balkan Cup 1946, Balkan Cup, which was won by the Albania national football team. The stadium has been used for football matches of the Albanian Superliga and the national team, athletics (sport), athletic events, and the six Spartakiad (Albania), Albanian Spartakiads. Tish Daija
Tish Daija (Shkodër, 30 January 1926 – 3 October 2003) was an Albanian composer. He composed the first Albanian ballet ''Halili dhe Hajria'' (Halili and Hajria) that premiered on 13 January 1963 and has since been shown more than 250 times at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Albania, a record for the Albanian Theatre. He has also composed ''Spring'' (" Pranvera"), an Albanian opera. Tish Daija is an alumnus of the Moscow Conservatory. Xhevdet Shaqiri (5 January 1923 – 11 September 1997) was an Albanian football player and coach. Playing career Club He played for Vllaznia Shkodër, Partizani Tirana and Dinamo Tirana during his playing career and won 9 league titles with them. He became the league's top goalscorer in 1946 with 11 goals. International He made his debut for Albania in a September 1947 Balkan Cup match against Yugoslavia and earned a total of 14 caps, scoring no goals. His final international was a September 1957 friendly match against China. Zihni Gjinali
Zihni Gjinali (5 May 1926 – 19 July 2005) was an Albanian footballer who played his professional career for Besa, Dinamo Tirana and Partizani Tirana football clubs. He was the captain and head coach of the Dinamo Dynasty of the 1950s. Gjinali was also a successful player with the Albania National Football Team. International career He made his debut for Albania in a May 1948 Balkan Cup match against Hungary and earned a total of 12 caps, scoring 3 goals. Vasif Biçaku
Vasif Biçaku (2 March 1922) was an Albanian footballer who played for Sportklub Tiranë and Apolonia Fier as well as the Albania national team. He is also known for being part of the 1946 Albania vs Yugoslavia football match, which was Albania's first official match. In total, he earned 18 caps for the national team between 1946 and 1952. Club career He was born in Tiranë into a noble family from Elbasan and began his football career in the late 1930s with Sportklub Tiranë. He moved to Partizani Tirana in 1948 where he won two National Championships. Towards the end of his playing career he moved to Apolonia Fier and played in the Albanian second tier until his retirement in the mid 1950s.
