President Of The Republic Of China
The president of the Republic of China, now often referred to as the president of Taiwan, is the head of state of the Republic of China (ROC), as well as the commander-in-chief of the Republic of China Armed Forces. The position once had authority of ruling over Mainland China, but its remaining jurisdictions has been limited to Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, Matsu and other smaller islands since the conclusion of Second Chinese Civil War. Originally elected by the National Assembly, the presidency was intended to be a ceremonial office with no real executive power as the ROC was originally envisioned as a parliamentary republic. Since the 1996 presidential election, the president is directly elected by plurality voting to a four-year term, with incumbents limited to serving two terms. Huang Qingyi ( Chinese: 黄晴宜; born October 1944) is a politician of the People's Republic of China. From 2007 to 2010 she served as vice chairman of the All-China Women's Federation. Biography Born in Suqian, Jiangsu Province in October 1944, Huang joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in March 1966, and started working in July 1966. From September 1962 to July 1966, she studied in the Gardening Department of the Henan Institute of Agriculture, majoring in fruits. She has served in various posts in Henan. Li Jiayu
Li Jiayu () (April 25, 1892 – May 21, 1944) was a KMT general from Sichuan who was killed during the Second Sino-Japanese War. A veteran of the Xinhai Revolution and the Second Revolution, he served as a regimental officer in the 6th Brigade of the Sichuan clique army, which was part of the Sichuan clique Army 3rd Division commanded by warlord Deng Xihou. He was promoted to commanding officer of the 6th Brigade in 1922 by his superior officer Deng and later promoted to major general and commander of the 1st Division of the Sichuan clique Army in September 1923. In August 1924, he was promoted to Lieutenant General in the Sichuan clique army. On May 21, 1944, he was killed in action in Henan province. Benjamin Ralph Kimlau
Benjamin Ralph Kimlau (金勞少尉) (April 11, 1918 – March 5, 1944) was a Chinese American aviator and United States Air Force bomber pilot. Kimlau was born on April 10, 1918, in Concord, MA and moved to New York City with his parents in 1932. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School. After his visit to China, he studied at Pennsylvania Military College in Chester, Pennsylvania, from 1938 to 1942. Upon graduation he was promoted to Field Artillery 2nd Lieutenant. With America at war, Kimlau joined the US Army Field Artillery, but later transferred to the United States Army Air Forces 380th Bombardment Group of the Fifth Air Force. After training as a pilot, he was stationed at Fenton Airfield in Australia. In Australia, Kimlau flew B-24 Liberator bomber in missions during the New Guinea campaign. Lin Zongsu
Lin Zongsu (; 1878–1944) was a Chinese suffragist and writer. She founded the first women's suffrage organization in China and was one of China's most noted political feminist activists in the Qing- early Republican period. She also became one of China's first woman journalists and newspaper editors. As a journalist, she published widely on women's rights and led several women's organizations until democracy was suppressed in 1913. In later life, she taught in Singapore and ran a boating enterprise there which was able to finance her brother's newspapers in China. After a decade in Southeast Asia, she and her husband returned to China and lived in the southern part of the country where their business operations were located. Men Bingyue (; 1890–1944) was a general in the Chinese National Revolutionary Army during the Second Sino-Japanese War. As commander of the 7th Cavalry Division he participated in the Suiyuan Campaign in 1936, defeating the Japanese backed Inner Mongolian Army. After the beginning of the Second Sino-Japanese War in 1937 he was made Commander of the 6th Cavalry Army, fighting in the Battle of Taiyuan defending Suiyuan. In 1940 he was made Deputy Commander in Chief of the 17th Army Group. In 1941, he was made Commander of the 7th Cavalry Army. Zheng Xiaoyu (; December 10, 1944July 10, 2007) was the director of the State Food and Drug Administration of the People's Republic of China from 2003 to 2005. He was sentenced to death for corruption and allowing possibly tainted products in Mainland China in the first instance trial at Beijing No.1 Intermediate Court on May 29, 2007.
