Monarchy Of Norway
The Norwegian monarch is the head of state of Norway, which is a constitutional and hereditary monarchy with a parliamentary system. The Norwegian monarchy can trace its line back to the reign of Harald Fairhair and the previous petty kingdoms which were united to form Norway; it has been in unions with both Sweden and Denmark for long periods. The present monarch is King Harald V, who has reigned since 17 January 1991, succeeding his father, Olav V. The heir apparent is his only son, Crown Prince Haakon. The crown prince undertakes various public ceremonial functions, as does the king's wife, Queen Sonja. The crown prince also acts as regent in the king's absence. Permanent Court Of International Justice
The Permanent Court of International Justice, often called the World Court, existed from 1922 to 1946. It was an international court attached to the League of Nations. Created in 1920 (although the idea of an international court was several centuries old), the Court was initially well-received from states and academics alike, with many cases submitted to it for its first decade of operation. Between 1922 and 1940 the Court heard a total of 29 cases and delivered 27 separate advisory opinions. With the heightened international tension in the 1930s, the Court became less used. By a resolution from the League of Nations on 18 April 1946, both the Court and the League ceased to exist and were replaced by the International Court of Justice and the United Nations. Paper editions 1978–2007 The ''SNL'' was created in 1978, when the two publishing houses Aschehoug and Gyldendal merged their encyclopedias and created the company Kunnskapsforlaget. Unni Elisabeth Bernhoft (born 4 March 1933) is a Norwegian actress and tobacco retailer. Personal life Bernhoft was born in Oslo to singer and revue writer Bias Bernhoft and Margit Haug, and is a granddaughter of Tobias Bernhoft. She is married to actor Bjørn Sand, and is the mother of television producer and executive Jon Ola Sand. Career Bernhoft made her stage debut at Chat Noir in 1953, in the revue ''Katten er løs''. Her film appearances include ''Bedre enn sitt rykte'' (1955), ' (1957), ''Fjols til fjells'' (1957), '' Støv på hjernen'' (1959), and '' Millionær for en aften'' (1960). Kåre Øvregard (born 19 February 1933 in Jostedal) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Sogn og Fjordane in 1977, and was re-elected on two occasions. On the local level he was deputy mayor of Jostedal Jostedal is a former municipality in the old Sogn og Fjordane county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1963. Stein Haugen (10 January 1933 – 31 March 2008) was a Norwegian discus thrower. He was born in Lom, but represented IL i BUL. He died in March 2008 in Bærum. At the 1960 Summer Olympics he finished eleventh in the discus final with a throw of 53.36 metres. He competed in the European Championships in 1958 and 1962, without reaching the final. He became Norwegian champion in discus throw in the years 1958–1964. In 1959 and 1960 he became national champion in shot put as well. Anne Petrea Vik (born 8 January 1933) is a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. From 1989 to 1990, while the cabinet Syse held office, Vik was appointed Minister of Agriculture. On the local level she was a member of Kvæfjord municipal council from 1975 to 1975, and later served as deputy mayor from 1995 to 1999. From 1979 to 1987 she was a member of Troms county council. Bjarne Lingås (7 January 1933 – 19 November 2011) was a Norwegian boxer. He became the Norwegian Champion six times in heavyweight and light heavyweight. He became the Nordic Champion in 1955. In 1954 he was on the Europe Team in the Golden Gloves The Golden Gloves is the name given to annual competitions for amateur boxing in the United States, where they are awarded a belt and a ring. And the title of nations champion is awarded. The Golden Gloves is a term used to refer to the Nation ... tournament in the United States, and won his two matches. For that he received Morgenbladets Gullmedalje (The Morgenbladets Gold Medal). In 1952 Lingås represented Norway in the Light Heavyweight division at the Helsinki Olympic Games, losing to Brazilian Lucio Grotone in the second round.
