1932 VFL Grand Final
The 1932 VFL Grand Final was an Australian rules football game contested between the Richmond Football Club and Carlton Football Club, held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne on 1 October 1932. It was the 34th annual Grand Final of the Victorian Football League, staged to determine the premiers for the 1932 VFL season. The match, attended by 69,724 spectators, was won by Richmond by a margin of 9 points. Richmond were competing in their fifth Grand Final in six years, and after losing the previous four, finally claimed their third VFL/AFL premiership victory. Stan Judkins
Stan Judkins (4 October 190717 October 1986) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Richmond Football Club in the Victorian Football League between 1928 and 1936. He became the first Richmond player to win the game's most prestigious award, the Brownlow Medal. Judkins played his junior football as a rover for Greensborough and then moved to Northcote in the VFA for the 1926 season. Invited to Richmond the following year, Judkins was forced to remain in the VFA for one more season due to clearance problems, caused by a dispute between the two competitions. Eventually, he made his way to Punt Road in 1928, and he immediately became a first team regular, aged 20. He arrived at the club at the start of a golden era, and starred in the Tigers' semifinal win over Carlton, but was quiet during the loss to Collingwood in the Grand Final three weeks later. Frank 'Checker' Hughes
Francis Vane Hughes (26 February 1894 – 23 January 1978), nicknamed Checker, was an Australian rules footballer and coach in the Victorian Football League (now the Australian Football League). He coached the Melbourne Football Club to premiership success, and was responsible for the club changing its nickname to the Demons. Percy Bentley
Percy Bentley (13 December 1906 − 25 March 1982) was an Australian rules footballer in the (then) Victorian Football League. Maurie Hunter
Maurice Harold Hunter (5 March 1904 – 31 October 1987) was an Australian rules football player who played in the Victorian Football League (VFL) between 1929 and 1933 for the Richmond Football Club. Football Prior to joining Richmond he played in four premiership teams with St Patrick's of Albury (NSW) between 1923 and 1928. In 1928 he kicked 19 goals in a semi-final against Wangaratta in the Ovens & Murray Football League. He left St Patricks in 1929 for , two years later they made him captain. He was a premiership player in 1932 and the clubs best and fairest in 1933. In 1934 he was captain / coach of Camberwell in the VFA for the first part of the season, until Horrie Mason took over from Hunter after seven games. Doug Strang
Francis Douglas Strang (12 July 1912 – 28 March 1954) was an Australian rules footballer who played as a full forward in the VFL between 1931 and 1935 for the Richmond Football Club. Family He married Ina Lillian McCullough, at Geelong on 18 November 1937. He was the brother of dual Richmond premiership player Gordon Strang, St Kilda footballer Colin Strang, and South Melbourne footballer Allan Strang. He was the father of dual Richmond premiership player Geoff Strang, and the uncle of Richmond premiership player John Perry. Jack Titus
Jack "Skinny" Titus (9 March 1908 – 19 April 1978) was an Australian rules football player who played in the Victorian Football League (VFL) between 1926 and 1943 for the Richmond Football Club. In the golden era of the 1930s, Titus was one of the great forwards who regularly thrilled the crowds with spectacular goalkicking feats. Gordon Strang
Gordon "Cocker" Strang (10 February 1908 – 8 October 1951) was an Australian rules footballer who played in the Victorian Football League for the Richmond Football Club between 1931 and 1936. Strang first came under notice when he kicked 10 goals for Jindera FC in the Albury & Border Football Association, in 1927. He was the son of Bill Strang, who played for South Melbourne between 1904 and 1913 (and was South Melbourne's leading goal-kicker in 1913) After a year in Tasmania as captain-coach of North Launceston, he returned to Richmond, and played all of Richmond's 18 matches in the 1938 season, scoring 6 goals.
