1923–24 Prince Of Asturias Cup
The 1923–24 Prince of Asturias Cup was the sixth tournament of the Prince of Asturias Cup, which is an inter-regional football competition contested by the regional selections of Spain. The pre-favourites to win were the Catalan team because at that time they had great international figures such as the Spanish goalkeeper Ricardo Zamora or the Barcelona players Josep Samitier, the Filipino Paulino Alcántara and the Argentine Emili Sagi-Barba, and they proved the favouritism by prevailing in a dramatic final against a Castile/Madrid XI. Juan Olivella
Juan Olivella was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward. The dates of his birth and death are unknown. Club career Born in Catalonia, he began playing football at FC Internacional in 1917, before joining CE Europa in 1920. As a member of this club, Olivella won the Catalan Championship in 1923 after beating Barcelona 1-0 in a play-off title-decider, and started in the 1923 Copa del Rey Final, where they were beaten 0-1 by Athletic Bilbao, courtesy of a goal from Travieso. José Luis Zabala (14 December 1898 – 22 April 1946) was a Spanish Association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward. Manuel López Llamosas (1 May 1900 – 14 October 1975), known as Travieso, was a Spanish association football, footballer who represented multiple teams in Spain. He was capped once by the Spain national football team in 1922, scoring twice. José María Laca
José María Martín Laca Salcedo (11 November 1898 – 22 September 1977) was a Spanish footballer who played primarily as a midfielder. Laca spent his entire 10-year career with Athletic Bilbao, and thus be part of the so-called one-club men group. Laca also earned one cap for the Spain national team in 1924. Club career Laca began his career at Athletic Club, and he quickly became one of the club's benchmarks at the time. Carmelo Goyenechea Urrusolo (18 June 1898 - 10 November 1984) was a Spanish footballer. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1924 Summer Olympics. Club career Born in Bilbao in 1898, he began playing for his hometown club SD Deusto until 1921, when he signed for Athletic Bilbao. Enrique Gómez Muñoz (20 July 1898 – 14 March 1926), known as Spencer, was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward. Club career Born in Seville, Andalusia, Spencer spent the vast majority of his career at hometown club Sevilla FC, whom he joined in 1913 at the age of 15. In the 1914–15 season he changed his football nickname, which until then was Enrique, to Spencer, to mislead his father, who wanted him to stop playing football to concentrate on studies. Spencer also represented Real Oviedo, after being relocated to the city to perform his military service. International career On 16 December 1923, in only the 12th fixture of their existence, Spencer received his only cap for the Spanish national team, a 3–0 friendly win over neighbours Portugal. Eduardo Cubells Ridaura (17 January 1900 – 13 March 1964) was a Spanish football player and manager. Juan Armet de Castellví, nicknamed "Kinké" (30 June 1895 in Terrassa – 5 October 1956 in Madrid) was a Spanish footballer who played as a forward, and later a coach.
