1918 Norwegian Football Cup
The 1918 Norwegian Football Cup was the 17th season of the Norwegian annual knockout football tournament. The tournament was open for all members of NFF. Kvik (Fredrikshald) won their first title by beating Brann in the final. This was second consecutive year that Brann lost the final. First round Twenty clubs received a bye to the second round. The Norwegian Football Federation ( nb, Norges Fotballforbund, nn, Noregs Fotballforbund; NFF) is the governing body of football in Norway. It was formed in 1902 and organises the men's and women's national teams, as well as the league systems for men and women (whose top levels are respectively the Eliteserien and Toppserien). The current president of NFF is Lise Klaveness. By 1 January 2004, there were 1,814 clubs organized in Norway and 373,532 registered players. It is the largest sports federation in Norway. The NFF joined FIFA in 1908, and UEFA in 1954. The NFF was part of an unsuccessful joint bid with the SvFF, the DBU and the SPL to host the UEFA Euro 2008 championship. The SvFF invited the NFF to join them in bidding for the UEFA Euro 2016 championship. The NFF and Norwegian politicians expressed support for such a proposal, but Euro 2016 was eventually awarded to France. Mjøndalen IF Fotball – commonly known as Mjøndalen IF, and (especially locally) Mjøndar'n or MIF – is the football department of Mjøndalen IF. Founded in 1910, the club is located in Mjøndalen, Viken, Norway. The team plays its home matches in the 4,350-capacity Consto Arena. IL Sverre
Idrettslaget Sverre is a sports club located in Levanger, Norway. The club was founded on 26 September 1886, and today it has sections for football, gymnastics, tennis and cycling. The name originates from Birkebeiner king Sverre Sigurdsson. Football History In the 1956–57 season, Sverre competed in play-offs to win promotion to the 1957–58 Hovedserien, the top division in the Norwegian football league system. Sverre lost 3–5 on aggregate against Molde and were never promoted to the top flight. Idrettsklubben Start (or simply IK Start, translates to The sports club Start ) is a Norwegian football club from the city of Kristiansand that currently plays in the 1. divisjon, the second tier of the Norwegian football league system. The club was founded on 19 September 1905. The club's current head coach is Sindre Tjelmeland. The team plays in yellow jerseys, black shorts and socks at home, and black jerseys, yellow shorts and socks away. They play their home matches at Sør Arena, the club's own football stadium, opened in 2007. Before moving to Sør Arena, IK Start played their games at Kristiansand Stadion. Moss Fotballklubb is a Norwegian football club, founded on 28 August 1906. They play in the 2. divisjon, the third highest division in the Norwegian football league system. They played in the Norwegian top flight between 1937-1939, 1953-1954, 1977-1985 (9 seasons), 1987-1990 (4 seasons), 1996 and 1998-2002. The club came close to earning promotion to the top flight in 2005, but lost the play-off against Molde. Stadium Moss play their home games at Melløs stadion, which has a capacity of around 10,000. Because of national rules of professional license for top clubs in Norway, the stadium has only been certified for 3,085 spectators. Built in 1939, it has remained the club's home ground ever since. The record attendance is 10,085, set in 2003 against rivals Fredrikstad. Idrettsforeningen Ready is a sports club in Vestre Aker, Oslo, Norway. The club was established on June 14, 1907 by Aage Blom Lorentzen. The football club play their home games at Gressbanen in Oslo. Gressbanen was the arena for the Norway national team before Ullevaal was constructed in 1928. Former Norwegian international Dan Eggen has played for Ready. Neset Fotballklubb is a Norwegian association football club located in Frosta, Trøndelag. The club was founded 1 June 1905 as ''Trygg''. The men's team currently plays in 5. divisjon, the sixth tier of the Norwegian football league system. Neset play their home games at Vinnatrøa kunstgress. History The club was founded as Trygg on 1 June 1905. In 1914, they changed name to Neset Fotballklubb as they became part of Nordenfjeldske Fotballkrets.
