George McCaa
George Shiffer McCaa (March 8, 1884 – November 28, 1960) was an American football, basketball, and baseball player and coach. He played college football at Lafayette College as a fullback in 1908 and 1909. McCaa served as the head football coach at Whitman College in 1910, at Lafayette from 1912 to 1913, and at Muhlenberg College from 1914 to 1915. At Lafayette he also played basketball and baseball, and ran track. McCaa was born on March 8, 1884, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The 1913 Pittsburgh Panthers football team was an American football team that represented the University of Pittsburgh as an independent during the 1913 college football season. In its first season under head coach Joseph Duff, the team compiled a 6–2–1 record and outscored all opponents by a total of 165 to 46. The Rivalry (Lafayette–Lehigh)
The Rivalry is an American college football rivalry game played by the Lafayette Leopards football team of Lafayette College and the Lehigh Mountain Hawks football team of Lehigh University. It is the most-played football rivalry in the nation and is the longest uninterrupted rivalry game. As of 2022, "The Rivalry" has been played 158 times since 1884 with only one interruption in 1896. No game was played in calendar 2020 due to COVID-19 issues, but the teams played in April 2021 after the Patriot League, home to both schools, moved its originally planned fall 2020 season to spring 2021. The colleges' football teams met twice annually (except 1891, when they played three games, and 1896, when they did not play at all) until 1901.
