1904 Copa Del Rey
The Copa del Rey 1904 was the second staging of the Copa del Rey, the Spanish football cup competition. The competition was played in 1904 in Madrid. It was notable for its chaotic development and the fact that Athletic Bilbao won the trophy without playing a game. Details Originally, three teams were to participate, one for each region. The newly formed Madrid Football Federation, who organized the competition for the first time (the previous tournament was organized by Madrid CF), invited Athletic Bilbao representing Biscay and Espanyol of Barcelona representing Catalonia. Madrid was to be represented by the winner of a preliminary round between Club Español de Madrid and Madrid-Moderno (a merger of Madrid CF and Moderno). Moncloa Football Club
The Moncloa Football Club was a football team based in Madrid, Spain, which was founded in April 1902 and dissolved in 1907 after being absorbed by Madrid FC. Moncloa FC was only the third football club to have been founded in the Spanish capital, and together with Madrid FC, it was the only team who participated in the first three editions of the Centro championship, achieving two back-to-back runner-up finishes in 1903–04 and 1904–05, losing the respective finals to Español de Madrid and Madrid FC. Despite its early success, however, the club was subjected to an early disappearance in 1907. The club disputed its matches in a field located at the end of Argüelles, in the district of Moncloa-Aravaca, and also played some matches at the Hipódromo de la Castellana (Madrid FC's field at the time) as there were hardly any fields in Spain. Federico Revuelto
Federico Revuelto (born 1883) was a Guatemalan footballer who played for the Madrid Football Club from 1902 to 1912. Biography Federico Revuelto was born in Cuyotenango, Suchitepéquez, Guatemala in 1883. Revuelto initially started playing rugby football in England. He then switched to association football and joined the newly formed Madrid Football Club in 1902 at the age of 19, playing as a left-center forward. From 1903 to 1904, Revuelto served as the club's captain. He played in the 1903, 1905, 1906, 1907, and 1908 Copa del Rey finals, winning the latter four and scoring the first goal of the 1908 final. He served as interim president of Madrid FC in 1913. Revuelto is listed in Real Madrid's "hall of fame" in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. Pedro Parages Diego-Madrazo (17 December 1883 – 15 February 1950) was a Franco-Spanish footballer, manager, and the 5th President of Real Madrid from July 1916 until 16 May 1926. During his mandate, Madrid FC received the Royal title (''Real'') from the hands of the King Alfonso XIII. He played as a forward for Association Sportive Amicale before joining Madrid FC (now Real Madrid) in 1902. Parages was thus the very first French player to represent ''Los Merengues''. Parages was one of the most important footballers in the amateur beginnings of Madrid FC, being one of the main architects of the team's football power in the 1900s and playing a pivotal role in the club's four back-to-back Copa del Rey titles between 1905 and 1908, playing in all the finals and netting twice in the 1906 final. Joaquín Yarza Ormazábal, also known as Quincho Yarza (1881 - 1972), was a Spanish Association football, footballer who played as a midfielder for Real Madrid CF, Madrid FC. Along with his brother Manuel Yarza, Manuel, he was a member of the Real Madrid CF, Madrid FC side that won the Copa del Rey four times in a row, between 1905 and 1908, although Joaquín only participated in the first three, leaving the club in 1907 to join Real Vigo Sporting, Sporting de Vigo. Tiro Del Pichón
Tiro del Pichón (), also known as Campo del Retiro ( Retiro), or Campo de la Rana (), was the first football pitch of Real Madrid between 1901 and 1902. They were not an official club at that time, playing friendly games on this field. Meetings were held there until 1903, the date the entity moved to the Campo de Jorge Juan. The main team at this stadium was Atlético Madrid. They used this field between 1902 and 1913 before moving to Campo de O'Donnell from 1913 to 1923. Ceferino Rodríguez Alonso de Avecilla (14 December 1880 – 1956) was a Spanish writer, dramatist, sports journalist and football executive. A prolific and restless journalist, Avecilla wrote countless chronicles about the most important issues of his time, as well as several novels and plays. Overtime (sports)
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament.
