Association Football
Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. The objective of the game is to score more goals than the opposition by moving the ball beyond the goal line into a rectangular framed goal defended by the opposing side. Traditionally, the game has been played over two 45 minute halves, for a total match time of 90 minutes. With an estimated 250 million players active in over 200 countries, it is considered the world's most popular sport. The game of association football is played in accordance with the Laws of the Game, a set of rules that has been in effect since 1863 with the International Football Association Board (IFAB) maintaining them since 1886. Henri Bard
Henri Louis Bard (29 April 1892 – 26 January 1951) was a French professional footballer. Born in Lyon, Bard started his career in Switzerland, when his parents lived there. His first club was Servette. From 1911 he played as forward for Racing Club de France. Two years later he became a member of the France national team. In 1918 he became a member of Paris club ''Cercle Athlétique''. With this team he won the French Cup in 1920, when he scored both of his team's goals in the final against Le Havre AC. From 1922 to 1925 he played again for Racing Club. He won 18 caps Caps are flat headgear. Dumbarton F
Dumbarton (; also sco, Dumbairton; ) is a town in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland, on the north bank of the River Clyde where the River Leven flows into the Clyde estuary. In 2006, it had an estimated population of 19,990. Dumbarton was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Strathclyde, and later the county town of Dunbartonshire. Dumbarton Castle, on top of Dumbarton Rock, dominates the area. Dumbarton was a Royal burgh between 1222 and 1975. Dumbarton emerged from the 19th century as a centre for shipbuilding, glassmaking, and whisky production. However these industries have since declined, and Dumbarton today is increasingly a commuter town for Glasgow east-southeast of it. Dumbarton F.C. is the local football club. 1891–92 Scottish Football League
The 1891–92 Scottish Football League was the second season of the Scottish Football League after its formation in 1890. A total of 12 clubs ( 3rd LRV, Abercorn, Cambuslang, Celtic, Clyde, Dumbarton, Heart of Midlothian, Leith Athletic, Rangers, Renton, St Mirren and Vale of Leven) took part in the competition. Dumbarton and Rangers were the defending champions having shared the title the previous season. The competition began with the first matches held on 15 August 1891 and concluded on 24 May 1892. The league was won by Dumbarton who won the title outright for the first time on 7 May 1892 after they drew 1–1 away to Abercorn in their final match. Clubs In the close season after the league's successful first year, the Scottish Football League held its annual general meeting. Sunderland () is a port city in Tyne and Wear, England. It is the City of Sunderland's administrative centre and in the Historic counties of England, historic county of County of Durham, Durham. Club De Deportes Santiago Wanderers
Club de Deportes Santiago Wanderers is a football club based in Valparaíso, a founding member of the Chilean Football Federation. Their home ground, Estadio Elías Figueroa Brander, is in the north-west of the city. Wanderers have played their games there since 1931 after moving from Barrio Puerto. Founded on 15 August 1892, it's the country's oldest club and the oldest football team in Latin America as well. There are four clubs older than Wanderers in Peru and Argentina, but none of those started out as football clubs and all of their football branches started after 1892. For this reason, Wanderers is known in Chile as the ''Decano del fútbol chileno'' ("The dean of Chilean football") and forms part of Conmebol's ''Club de los 100'', section which congregates Latin-American teams founded over 100 years ago.
