Lasse Åberg
Lars Gunnar Åberg (born 5 May 1940), known professionally as Lasse Åberg, is a Swedish actor, musician, film director and artist. Between 1960 and 1964 he studied at the Konstfack department of graphic design. Åberg has produced some of the most successful films in Sweden, depicting "typical" Swedish life and customs in a usually humorous way. Åberg's character can be described as an inept outsider with a large heart, constantly pushed aside without noticing. His films have generated over 300 million Swedish kronor (~43 million USD) in Sweden alone; no large scale international distribution has ever been attempted. His 1980 film ''Sällskapsresan'' entered into the 12th Moscow International Film Festival. As an artist, he is famous for making various lithographs; one of his stocks in trade are sketchy Mickey Mouse drawings. He is a member of Svenska Serieakademien. He also re-designed the seat textiles for the Stockholm Metro subway in the 1990s. As a musician, he pla ...

Ingmar Bergman Award
The Ingmar Bergman Award was a Swedish film award, distributed between 1978 and 2007. It was instituted by legendary Swedish film director Ingmar Bergman, as a complement to the Guldbagge Awards. The jury consisted of Ingmar Bergman and the CEO of the Swedish Film Institute. The recipients were awarded a bronze plaque, depicting Bergman's face, and a sum of money. The award was first presented at the 14th Guldbagge Awards, and continued until Bergman's death in 2007. History The award was primarily intended to honour achievements in Swedish film which had not otherwise been considered when the Guldbagge Awards were handed out. As a filmmaker with extensive experience, Ingmar Bergman was aware of how filmmaking requires delicate cooperation between many different people. He knew how important each specialty is to the finished result, and that a film is never better than the weakest link in that complex teamwork. Bergman never forgot the often overlooked categories of film worker ...

Gunn Wållgren
Gunn Wållgren (born Gunnel Margaret Haraldsdotter Wållgren; ; 16 November 1913 – 4 June 1983) was a Swedish actress. Considered one of Sweden's better actresses, Wållgren was famous for her fragile and sensual way of acting and her inner soulfulness on stage. Her Chekhov and Ibsen character interpretations, in particular, are considered to be unsurpassed. Biography Gunn Wållgren was born in Gothenburg in November 1913. In her teenage years, she preformed in some local children's theaters. Gunn Wållgren wanted to become an actress when she was a child, altho her father Harald Wållgren did not support her. In an attempt to try to dissuade her, Gunn's father sent Gunn overseas on a trip to Switzerland. This proved unhelpful, as her desire to act only increased. By the time she returned home, she was more determined than ever. Carrying a tremendous shyness and insecurity, which came to personally restrict her all her life. In 1934, age 21, she secretly applied for the ...
