Abraham Lehn (landowner)
Abraham Lehn (10 May 1702 – 31 July 1757) was a Denmark, Danish landowner. He owned the estates Højbygård, Fuglsang Manor, Fuglsang, Priorskov and Berritsgård on Lolland as well as the Lehn House and other property in Copenhagen. He was also a collector of books, paintings and coins. He was the father of Poul Abraham Lehn. Early life Abraham was born in Copenhagen, the son of wine merchant Abraham Lehn (1643–1709) and Cathrine Elisabeth Kreyer (died 1710). Lehn and his brothers were brought up in the home of merchant Christian Schupp after their father's death in 1709. He was until 1717 taught at home by Peder Benzon Mylius (1689-1745). Mylius accompanied him on a Grand tour which took them to Hamburg, Dresden, Vienna and Paris. Property Lehn had inherited circa 200,000 Danish rigsdaler from his father. He purchased Højbygård at auction in 1725, followed by Fuglsang Manor, Fuglsang and Priorskov in 1726 and finally Berritsgård in 1729. He took active part in the ... Anna Catharina Materna
Anna Catharina Materna (''née'' von der Lühe) (1731–1757) was a Danish actor and playwright. She belonged to the first pioneer-troupe of actors at the Royal Danish Theatre, and later became one of the first female playwrights to have her plays performed there. Life and career Materna was the child of the noble but poor Lieutenant Friedrich Siegfried Johann Hans von der Lühe (1705–50) and Mechtilde Siegfriede Jullern (d. 1763), and joined the theatre in 1748 when it advertised for female actors, which were in short supply for the newly opened national stage in Copenhagen. It was unusual, and considered a great shame, for a member of nobility to perform on stage, and she took the stage name Materna to hide her identity. Anna Catharina Materna was not in reality considered to have much talent as an actor, but she knew how to portray a noblewoman, and was considered perfect for this on the stage, and she became a primadonna of the theatre in such parts, used much as a stage-orn ... Christine Sophie Holstein
Countess Christine Sophie Holstein of Holsteinborg, née Reventlow (30 October 1672 – 27 June 1757) was a politically influential Danish salon hostess. Biography Daughter to Count Conrad von Reventlow (1644–1708), Danish Grand Chancellor (prime minister), and Anna Margrethe Gabel (1651–1678), she married Count Niels Friis (1665–1699) in 1688 and statesman Count Ulrik Adolph von Holstein of Holsteinborg in 1700, and belonged to the highest aristocracy in Denmark. In 1707, she was granted Seekamp estate (a part of today's Kiel-Schilksee) in then Slesvig as her own fief by her father. From 1712, the king had a relationship with her half-sister, Anna Sophie Reventlow, and in 1721, he made her queen. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957. Frederick V (Danish and Norwegian: ''Frederik V''; 31 March 1723 – 14 January 1766) was King of Denmark–Norway and Duke of Schleswig-Holstein from 6 August 1746 until his death in 1766. He was the son of Christian VI of Denmark and Sophie Magdalene of Brandenburg-Kulmbach. Although the personal influence of Frederick was limited, his reign was marked by the progress of commerce and trade, and art and science prospered under his reign. Unlike his parents who were deeply devoted to Pietism, Frederick grew into a hedonist. As regent, he took part in the conduct of government by attending council meetings, but he was afflicted by alcoholism and most of his rule was dominated by able ministers who were influenced by the ideas of the Age of Enlightenment.
