16bit
16bit were an English electronic music duo, consisting of Eddie Jefferys and Jason Morrison. They were signed to Chase & Status' MTA Records, and best known for their work with Björk. Biography 16bit were composed of Eddie Jefferys from South London and Jason Morrison from Bath, Somerset. Both became interested in electronic music at an early age, citing jungle, and garage as their main influences. They were best known for producing dubstep and made their debut release in January 2008 with ''In The Death Car EP'' featuring the track "Chainsaw Calligraphy" which was recognised for its innovative qualities at the time. Fourteen of 16bit's songs were used as the soundtrack for the iOS and WiiWare video game ''Lilt Line''. The duo co-produced "Crystalline" and "Mutual Core" off Björk's 2011 album '' Biophilia.'' Biophilia (album)
''Biophilia'' is the seventh studio album by Icelandic singer Björk. It was released on 5 October 2011 by One Little Indian Records and distributed by Nonesuch Records in North America and by Universal Music Group in the rest of the world. Björk composed it as a concept album during the 2008–2011 Icelandic financial crisis, exploring the links between nature, music and technology. Billed as the first "app album", ''Biophilia'' is a multimedia project released alongside a series of apps linking the album's themes to musicology concepts. It was followed by a series of educational workshops in four continents. Four singles were issued before the album's release in 2011. For the defunct U.S. record label see MTA Records More Than (MTA) Records is an independent record label founded by Chase & Status in 2009, specialising in "exceptional" music. The label releases a large variety of music including rap, soul, drum and bass, dubstep and deep house. It has played a pivotal role in the success of Nero, Redlight, 16bit, Ben Pearce among others, and many of its releases have charted in the United Kingdom. On 19 February 2015, the label competed against Hospital Records, Black Butter Records and 3 Beat Records in BBC Radio 1Xtra's "Best of British Soundclash". Hosted by MistaJam, the event served as an unofficial sequel to Red Bull's ''Culture Clash'' 2014 (also hosted by MistaJam). MTA won, having received the most Twitter votes from listeners. Mutual Core
"Mutual Core" is a song recorded by Icelandic singer Björk for her seventh studio album '' Biophilia'' (2011). It was written and produced by Björk herself, while programming and beats were made in collaboration with Matthew Herbert and the English dubstep band 16bit. "Mutual Core" is an uptempo experimental song. Its music includes Pipe organ, electronica-tinged sounds and features the Choir Graduale Nobili, the choir featured on ''Biophilia''. The song's lyrics are a metaphor for human relationships, compared to the structure of the Earth and Plate tectonics. The song was well received by contemporary music critics, who praised its production and beats, moreover appreciating Björk's voice on the track. Eddie Jefferys
Edwin "Eddie" John Jefferys is an English music producer, artist and sound designer. He is best known for his work as a member of the duo 16bit and his solo project Moody Good. His work as 16bit employed bass heavy music, and resulted in multiple publishing syncs for Nike, the Transformers film series and the film ''Safe House''. He was involved with the production of Björk's ''Biophilia'' album. He released his debut solo album ''Moody Good'' with MTA Records and Owsla on 2 June 2014. The album won Best Album in the 2014 Bass Music Awards. Jefferys produced a single for the rap group Foreign Beggars entitled " Anywhere", provided additional production for the Chase & Status track " Gangsta Boogie" and remixed Yogi's single featuring Pusha T 'Burial'. He later released a 6 track EP on OWSLA's sister label NEST entitled ''This Is The Investigation'', in 2015, which explored experimental sounds and textures. Crystalline (song)
"Crystalline" is a song by Icelandic artist Björk, released as the lead single from her eighth album '' Biophilia''. The song was released as a single on 28 June 2011 accompanied by an iPad app developed exclusively for the song. It was afterward released as part of ''The Crystalline Series'' alongside the second single from the album, " Cosmogony". Development In March 2011, it was announced that Björk would play at the Manchester International Festival with a new concept of concert. Several songs from the album debuted during a series of performances at the festival between 27 June and 16 July 2011. ''Brand New Machine'' is the third studio album by English drum and bass production duo Chase & Status. It was released on 7 October 2013 by MTA Records under exclusive license to Mercury Records. Noisia
Noisia (stylised as NOISIΛ; "VISION" turned upside down) was a Dutch electronic music trio consisting of members Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger from Groningen, Netherlands. They produce a wide variety of music including drum and bass, dubstep, breakbeat and house.
