The 14th Screen Awards also The Nokia 14th Annual Screen Awards ceremony, presented by Indian Express Group, honored the best Indian Hindi-language films of 2007. The ceremony was held on 10 January 2008 at Bandra Kurla Complex Ground, Mumbai. Hosted by Sajid Khan, it was telecasted on 27 January 2008 on StarPlus. '' Taare Zameen Par'' led the ceremony with 16 nominations, followed by ''Guru'' and '' Life in a... Metro'' with 14 nominations each and ''Chak De! India'' with 12 nominations. Guru (2007 Film)
''Guru'' is a 2007 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed and co-written by Mani Ratnam. It stars Mithun Chakraborty, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhavan, Vidya Balan and Roshan Seth. The score and soundtrack for the film was composed by A. R. Rahman. Incidentally, Mithun Chakraborty also previously acted in a 1989 film of the same name in Hindi, as well as a 2003 film of the same name in Bengali. The film was rumored to be a biopic of the industrial tycoon Dhirubhai Ambani, but Ratnam refuted the claims, clarifying it was a work of fiction. The film was released on 12 January 2007 with its première at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto, Canada, on Thursday, 11 January 2007 by Roger Nair, making it the first Indian film to have a mainstream international première in Canada. ''Gandhi, My Father'' is a 2007 Indian biographical drama film by Feroz Abbas Khan. It was produced by Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, and released on 3 August 2007. The film stars Darshan Jariwala, Akshaye Khanna, and Bhumika Chawla. The film explores the troubled relationship between Mahatma Gandhi and his son Harilal Gandhi. Background The movie is based upon the biography of Harilal Gandhi, titled ''Harilal Gandhi: A Life'' by Chandulal Bhagubhai Dalal. Khan's play, ''Mahatma vs. Gandhi'', while different from this film, had a similar theme which was based on novel by Gujarati author Dinkar Joshi. ''Om Shanti Om'' (transl. ''Peace Be With You'') is a 2007 Indian Hindi-language fantasy romance film written and directed by Farah Khan, co-written by Mayur Puri and Mushtaq Shiekh, and produced by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment.
