Annunciation Of Cortona
The ''Annunciation of Cortona'' is a panel-painting altarpiece or retable by Fra Angelico: once housed in the Church of Gesù of Cortona, it is now held at the Museo Diocesano in Cortona. History The ''Annunciation of Cortona'' was painted by Fra Angelico in 1433–1434, in tempera on panel, 175 cm x 180 cm. This is one of three Annunciations by Fra Angelico on the table (the other two are in the Prado Museum, and the Museo della Basilica di Santa Maria delle Grazie, in San Giovanni Valdarno. Two others, in fresco, are found in the convent of San Marco, Florence, at the top of the access stairs and the third cell. There are also scenes of the theme combined with Adoration of the Magi at the Museum San Marco, and a diptych in the Galleria Nazionale dell'Umbria. Convent Of San Domenico, Fiesole
The Convent of San Domenico ( it, Convento di San Domenico) is a Dominican convent in Fiesole, Italy, situated between the hill of Fiesole and the suburbs of Florence. It was founded in 1406 and completed in 1435 on the initiative of Giovanni Dominici and the bishop of Fiesole, Jacopo Altoviti, both of them friars at the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella in Florence. Fra Angelico was a friar here, and painted several artworks for the convent, including the Fiesole Altarpiece and the ''Coronation of the Virgin'' (now in the Louvre of Paris). Pietro Perugino's ''Madonna with Child between Saints John the Baptist and Sebastian'', painted here in 1493, is now at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. The Prado ''Annunciation'' is an altarpiece painted by Giovanni da Fiesole, known now as Fra Angelico, in the 1420s. Domenico Di Bartolo
Domenico di Bartolo (birth name Domenico Ghezzi), born in Asciano, Siena, was a Sienese painter who became active during the early Renaissance period. He was inaccurately named by the famous painter, writer and historian Giorgio Vasari as the nephew of well-reputed Italian artist Taddeo di Bartolo, who is featured in Vasari's ''Lives of the Most Excellent Painters, Sculptors, and Architects''. By the early 1400s, Domenico di Bartolo was one of Siena's artists most influenced by the new Florentine style of painting. During the time that he was active and working, Domenico was the only Sienese painter to have received commissions by clients in Florence. ''Saint Francis of Assisi Receiving the Stigmata'' is the name given to two unsigned paintings completed around 1428–1432 that art historians usually attribute to the Flemish artist Jan van Eyck.
